|Renamed after the appearance of two dragons. Longtou Temple is a Buddhist temple with a long history and profound cultural heritage located at the foot of Mianshan Mountain in Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province. Longtou Temple was originally named Tayan Head, after the Kongwang Pagoda Courtyard on the loess slope under the rock. Later, it was renamed Longtou Temple after Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, saw two dragons appear when he went to Mianshan Mountain to pray for rain. The temple preserves a large number of precious cultural relics and historical artifacts, such as the stone carvings of "Marshal Ye Jianying on Mianshan," "Zuo Zhuan: Jie Zitui Refuses Reward," and "Nine Chapters" by Qu Yuan, which are important attractions to appreciate the profound historical culture of Mianshan. Longtou Temple is the first tourist area in Mianshan Scenic Area, with tour guides explaining the local culture and the stories of the surrounding buildings, as well as reminding visitors of the relevant matters of Longji Ridge and the surrounding cable cars.
