Izumo Taisha Shrine

Izumo Taisha Shrine, also known as Taisha Shrine, is located in Shimane Prefecture and is considered one of Japan's oldest and most significant shrines. It stands out with its ancient architectural style called "Taisha-zukuri," featuring a grand wooden structure that exudes elegance and sacredness. The main hall is characterized by a thickly thatched roof and a large shimenawa rope hanging at the front, which is a symbol of the shrine. To reach Izumo Taisha, you can take a train from Matsue City, which takes about an hour, or from Izumoshi Station, transfer to the Ichibata Line and get off at Izumo Taisha-mae Station. From there, it's just a 5-minute walk to the shrine. Admission is free, but the total cost for transportation and meals for the day is approximately 1,500–2,000 baht, depending on your starting point and chosen activities.
