The westernmost mountain in Hong Kong - West Mountain

If you want to climb mountains and watch the sunset in Hong Kong but don’t want to be too strenuous, West Peak is the best choice. High West is 493.8 metres (1,620 feet) above sea level and is the fourth highest mountain on Hong Kong Island. It is also the westernmost mountain on Hong Kong Island. After climbing to the top, you can overlook the western part of Victoria Harbour, Lamma Island, East Lamma Channel, West Lamma Channel, Chek Lap Kok, Mount Kellett, Aberdeen, Pok Fu Lam Reservoir and the South China Sea. The path to the top of West Peak is at the park at the intersection of Hatton Road, Lugard Road and Harlech Road. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the summit, which is acceptable even for people who seldom hike. To reach the trailhead, the most energy-saving way is to take bus No. 15 or the cable car to the Peak Plaza, and then spend about 15 minutes walking along Harlech Road to the junction with Wockton Road. After reaching the summit, remember to take a photo and check in at the Xigao Mountain date plate. There is a mountain road behind the lookout that leads down the mountain, but the cliffs are dangerous, so it is not recommended to go there.
