"Thai" innovative all-you-can-eat @Thai Golden Pot

I'm sure you've all had all-you-can-eat hotpot before. Most of my meals have been Japanese! This time, we're trying something new and trying Thai-style hotpot. Having just returned from a trip, it's natural to share souvenirs with friends! We chose Thai Golden Hotpot, a conveniently located restaurant in Mong Kok. I chose it because they have a dish I've been wanting to try for a while. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I heard a familiar tune! It just so happened that it was the first Cantonese pop party night. DJ Shirley curated a three-hour setlist of classic hits from the 80s and 90s, a truly relatable soundtrack. A large selection of all-you-can-eat dishes was laid out in the center of the restaurant, and everyone had 120 minutes to eat as much as they wanted. The dishes included cut fruit, appetizers, vegetables, mushrooms, and meatballs. There was also a wide selection of spicy cooked food! First up, there's Maoxuewang (Chinese mao xiong), braised pork knuckle, braised eggs, Thai-style minced meat, Thai vermicelli, barbecued pork buns, shrimp dumplings, siu mai (steamed pork belly), Hainanese chicken rice, and a variety of instant noodles. The warming cabinet also features squid rings, fish balls, luncheon meat, crispy fried fish skin, Chiang Mai fried pork skin, and golden fish tofu. What really caught my eye was the free all-you-can-eat shrimp buffet! There are two shrimp ponds where you can catch fresh, large shrimp, and they're constantly replenished to ensure you're full. Of course, hot pot is a must-try! The sauce section has everything you need to create your own unique flavor. The dessert section is equally captivating! First, there's a shaved ice machine where you can make your own refreshing dessert. For those who prefer a more relaxed meal, try a variety of popsicles. Of course, Thai desserts are a must! I was so happy to see my favorite sago cake. Those who prefer cold foods can opt for warming hot sweet soups! This evening, they offer coconut milk, taro sago, and papaya snow fungus sweet soup. The drinks menu is also quite generous! There's self-serve sake, longan ice cream, Thai matcha, Thai black milk tea, and monk fruit tea. There's also a wide selection of canned beers, sodas, and teas, so you're sure to find something you like. After the introductions, we went to the drinks cart. My dad actually picked up the Qingbuliang, apparently feeling quite hot after our trip to Taichung. I opted for a can of Korean brand lime soda, which has a refreshing lime aroma and is sugar-free and calorie-free, making it a healthy choice. In addition to the all-you-can-eat menu, you can also order other delicious dishes online! The grilled abalone, with its smoky, chewy texture and charred aroma, is definitely worth the money. Of course, there are also delicious dishes like Muay Thai shrimp cakes and Thai durian bombs. There's also grilled skewers made to order! We chose capelin, beef balls, okra, and chicken wings—nothing to miss for those who love savory food. Dad Che was incredibly understanding and brought me my favorite kimchi as the first dish! It was rich and flavorful, and the quality was truly excellent. But the most unexpected thing was how genuinely good the dim sum was! The shrimp dumpling wrappers were a bit thick, but the filling inside was incredibly delicious. The siu mai were also hearty and the meat filling was incredibly fresh. If you love dim sum, be sure to save a seat. Spam is a culinary obsession I can never give up! It's delicious on its own as a snack or as a great hot pot topping. The braised pork knuckle and the scrambled eggs were both incredibly flavorful. A must-try for those who love a good meal. The Thai vermicelli noodles were fried perfectly, and the umami flavor of the minced meat combined with the aroma of basil was truly captivating. The Hainanese chicken rice was also excellent! The chicken was incredibly tender and the rice was both fragrant and not greasy. Adding a little Thai Hainanese chicken sauce really brought out the flavor. Those who love healthy food should take note! The restaurant has launched the "Gym Gym Self-Control" fixed-portion hotpot set, perfect for fitness enthusiasts. This set offers a high-protein, low-calorie, and low-sodium hotpot option. This set features a sweet coconut water broth base! Served with 350g of chicken or beef breast, shrimp, a poached egg, tofu, shredded taro, or rice, plus a buffet of vegetables seasoned with natural Okinawa sea salt, it's a delicious and healthy choice. The Gym Gym Self-Control fixed-portion hotpot set is $138 per person (plus 10% service charge) and is available from now until October 31st. From now until October 31st, we're offering three special offers! 1. The smooth, creamy coconut milk broth paired with half a fresh Wenchang chicken is a perfect match. The Wenchang chicken has thin skin, crispy bones, and tender meat, which is enhanced by the rich coconut milk broth. Of course, the long-awaited fresh prawns were the perfect choice! Remember to chill the prawns in ice water after catching them from the seafood pond before adding them to the pot. We also enjoyed juicy prawns that night! The golden-yellow shrimp were incredibly sweet and fragrant, while the shrimp meat was fresh and chewy, perfectly flavorful. I absolutely loved the beautiful vegetables here, including my favorite purple kale! I also loved the fresh cordyceps flowers and peanut sprouts. Just eating the vegetables was enough to make me happy and satisfied. The evil car dad also chose geoduck, goose intestines, and baby cuttlefish. Moving to the meat section, the beef was of exceptional quality! The beef lovers chose Australian shoulder ribeye, Australian M6 Wagyu, and American shoulder short ribs, while I also had the specially selected pork brisket to satisfy my meat craving. After satisfying the savory cravings, of course, dessert was the order! Since there wasn't much room for me, I reserved it for the incredibly delicious shaved ice. Shave it yourself, add all sorts of colorful toppings, and it's a beautiful sight. I even added a watermelon popsicle for an extra popsicle, which made it even more vibrant. I went home feeling incredibly satisfied and full that night. The Coconut Milk Wenchang Chicken Hotpot Set Meal (minimum 2 persons) is priced at $358 per adult from Monday to Thursday, and $368 per person on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Children and seniors are priced at $238 per person from Monday to Thursday, and $248 per person on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays (subject to 10% service charge). Available from now until October 31, 2020.
