Sha Tin Seafood & Wagyu Themed Buffet

For my birthday celebration this year, I chose to come to the Imperial Hotel Sha Tin for a seafood and wagyu-themed buffet. It attracts many diners during all time slots on weekdays. I was lucky to have a reservation as the place was already full when I arrived at 7:30. 🦪 The seafood section is especially enticing. The lobster meat is fresh, tender, and springy, with a natural sweetness. The lobster roe is rich and smooth, leaving a lasting impression. The king crab legs are plentiful and extremely fresh. The American oysters are shucked on the spot by the chef, each plump and juicy, with a smooth texture and a strong seawater flavor, creamy in mouthfeel. For sashimi, the Argentine red shrimp is firm and springy, and the shrimp head roe is sweet and rich. 🥩 There are several types of wagyu, especially the Japanese wagyu grilled with salt and scallions, marinated in salt koji, with tender meat and a prominent savory flavor. I prefer the thinly sliced wagyu grilled on a teppan; quickly cooked to retain rich juices, wrapped with fragrant scallions and minced garlic, offering a complex and delicious taste. Other cooked dishes include pan-fried foie gras toast, crispy outside and tender inside, with a rich oily aroma. The thick-cut steamed eel in black bean sauce is plump and flavorful, with a rich sauce that pairs perfectly. There is also Hokkaido white birch pork sukiyaki, with tender meat. 🍰 The dessert section is equally impressive. The molten chocolate cake is rich with a thick flowing chocolate sauce, sweet but not greasy, a favorite for dessert lovers. The staff also offer plate decoration and writing services, adding fun and warmth to the dining experience. For drinks, the restaurant offers unlimited red and white wine, as well as freshly made cocktails and mocktails on site🍸, which is very exciting✨️.
