This is my first time staying at such a high-end hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised!

Hotel Review: Renaissance Guiyang Hotel || I haven't updated my hotel review series in a long time, but my stay at the Renaissance Guiyang Hotel was so amazing due to the outstanding service that I decided to start updating it again. I booked a basic king room, and my member tier is still Platinum. On the morning of my check-in, I received a call from the front desk, who asked about my arrival time and room preferences in detail. Without me making any special requests, the staff proactively offered an upgrade to an executive suite, which was a great start to their excellent service. I took the subway from Guiyang North Station. After getting off the subway, it's about an 800m walk to the hotel. Guests with large luggage are better off taking a taxi. As I walked to the hotel entrance with my suitcase, a concierge offered to help with my luggage. From the moment I entered the lobby, the front desk staff greeted me with smiles and a warm welcome. Check-in was efficient, and the information provided was just right. When I entered the room, a printed and handwritten welcome letter and service information were already placed on the dining table. The bedroom lights had been dimmed, and a weather card was placed on the nightstand. Without me making any requests, the hotel had already completed the turndown service. As a guest who is usually easy-going and doesn't like to bother others, I found this proactive service very comfortable, even though it wasn't complicated. The room itself is a bit old, but the facilities are well-maintained. Although the 2022 renovation didn't add many smart devices, the Renaissance's aesthetics and design keep the room's style up-to-date. The bedding is very comfortable and includes a bedside bench. The only shortcomings are the lack of outlets next to the sofa, the absence of Marriott's favorite JBL clock radio, and the unstable Wi-Fi in the room, which affected my experience. The service at the lounge was decent. The HH menu was good while maintaining local characteristics. However, the alcohol selection was confusing. I didn't see any whiskey, and the gin was Tanqueray No. Ten, not the basic Gordon's and Beefeater that are most popular in other lounges. Also, after 20:30, when alcoholic beverages stopped being served, the juices were also removed, leaving only canned drinks in the refrigerator. The breakfast service was also excellent. The staff proactively seated me and offered drinks. The food was OK, and the fried bacon was pretty good, even to a bacon connoisseur like myself. What surprised me most was that the entire breakfast staff addressed me by my last name when serving me. There were dozens of guests dining in the breakfast room that day, and as a White Gold member at the bottom of the membership hierarchy, I felt a little flattered. Overall, apart from its location being a bit far from the old city center, the Renaissance Guiyang Hotel offers warm and proactive service, making guests feel very comfortable. With the Q1 and flash sale discounts, the overall cost is about CNY 350 per night, which is well worth it. I look forward to staying here again next time I visit Guiyang.
