Finally saw Huangguoshu Waterfall, just like in the textbooks!!

The most important stop on my Guizhou trip ~ Huangguoshu Waterfall, of course 🎉 1⃣ I happened to encounter a half-price ticket offer for tourists from Zhejiang Province, which saved me a lot of money. Guizhou often has half-price or free ticket offers, so you can follow the official WeChat accounts of the cultural and tourism bureaus or scenic spots of major cities. 2⃣ We arrived near the scenic spot the night before. The area is full of hotels, B&Bs, and restaurants. We booked a cancellable room online and then decided whether to check in after seeing the room in person. If there are vacancies, you can sometimes negotiate the price on site. 3⃣ For meals, the dishes and flavors are pretty much the same at any restaurant. You can compare menus and prices first. 4⃣ The next day, we got up early at 5:00 a.m., had breakfast, and rushed to the scenic spot as soon as it opened to catch the first shuttle bus. There were far fewer people then, as tourists who weren't staying nearby hadn't arrived yet. 5⃣ Inside, you can choose which shuttle bus to take, as the routes and order of visiting the attractions are different. I recommend choosing the Tianxingqiao Bridge ~ Huangguoshu Waterfall ~ Doupotang Waterfall route. Tianxingqiao Bridge requires the longest walk and is the most physically demanding, so we took the first shuttle bus directly to Tianxingqiao Bridge. With fewer people and beautiful scenery, the Silver Chain Waterfall is both magnificent and beautiful, and it was the most touching sight for me. Huangguoshu Waterfall is the main one featured in textbooks, and it is truly spectacular during the high-water season. Doupotang Waterfall is where Journey to the West was filmed. 6⃣ I recommend buying a one-way escalator ticket (uphill). It's a very, very long escalator, and it was my first time experiencing something like that. It saves a lot of energy. 7⃣ When we went to Wanfenglin, the rice had mostly been harvested, which was a bit of a pity. We rented an electric scooter and rode around. Some roads have many ups and downs, so be careful. I personally don't think it's necessary to buy a sightseeing bus ticket (unless it's autumn and the rice paddies haven't been harvested yet).
