Lunch at the time-honored brandname featuring traditional cantonese dimsum at the main branch of TaoTaoju Restaurant 陶陶居 located at Dishifu Rd, Liwan district of old parts of Guangzhou. This century-old restaurant established in 1880s is a must-see and eat for any visitor to Guangzhou! It was originally a teahouse frequented by famous poets, novelists and playwrights in the late Qing dynasty, serving only tea and a small selection of dim sum before being revived in 1933 and transformed it into a fine-dining restaurant. Its now serving some of the best Cantonese dim sum in the city, if not in China. Though the dim sum may be a bit rustic for modern palates, there are some seriously old-school Cantonese dishes that are hard to find in other parts such as in Hong Kong. Definitely worth the money and perfect for morning breakfast or lunch date with family, friends and work colleagues.
