Yunnan 10 - Luoqian Peninsula in Dali

Luoqian Peninsula, named after Master Luoqian, is located on the east coast of Erhai Lake in Dali. The peninsula is surrounded by water on three sides, offering picturesque scenery and facing the ancient city of Dali across the lake. During the Nanzhao period, a temple, a pavilion, and a pagoda were built on Luoqian Peninsula, forming a tripartite structure. The temple is Luoqian Temple, situated in a slope valley facing the sea on the east side of the peninsula; the pavilion is Tianjing Pavilion, a four-story, octagonal pavilion towering on the mountain peak, and it is the most famous of the four pavilions around Erhai Lake; the pagoda is called Luoqian Pagoda, commonly known as the Topless Pagoda, which soars into the clouds with a magnificent presence. The top of the pagoda is the highest point of Luoqian Peninsula, offering a panoramic view of Erhai Lake, allowing one to appreciate the grandeur and tranquility of the lake.
