Wat Umong: Thailand's Most Mysterious Forest Tunnel Temple

Wat Umong, also known as Wat Umong, is a temple located at the foot of Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai. As soon as you step inside, you can feel its strong magnetic field, isolated from the world, tranquil and deep, gradually calming your noisy mind. The temple is situated in a large forest and has a history of 700 years. Its uniqueness lies in its tunnel structure, with Buddha statues and murals inside the tunnels. At the entrance of the tunnel, there is an open space with a pile of broken Buddha statues, making it a more surprising and niche attraction than the Tree-in-Buddha in Ayutthaya. It is about five kilometers by taxi from Chiang Mai Old City. A ticket to visit the Buddha statues in the temple tunnel costs 20 THB. This time, I booked all the hotels in Chiang Mai on Trip.
