The largest museum of agriculture in Europe is housed in an exceptional edifice at the Castle of Vajdahunyad on the Széchenyi-island near Városliget, Budapest. Ignác Alpár, the architect, combined many architectural styles, incorporating various components and details from well-known historical structures in Hungary. The complex's architecture is a mix of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Vajdahunyad castle (Corvin castle, now in Romania), the clock tower in Sighişoara (Romania), the Romanesque Church in Yak (Hungary), the Baroque Esterházy Palace (Austria), and a variety of other castles, towers, churches, and historical landmarks are all represented in the architecture of the castle. On the basis of the part of the palace visible from the lake, citizens of Budapest termed this complex of structures "Vajdahunyad castle."
