Lake Bled is known as the "Ice Lake" because the meltwater from the snow on the top of the Bled Mountains continuously flows into the lake. It is also known as one of the 30 most beautiful towns in the world. It was a sunny day when I arrived. The lake is surrounded by mountains. Walking around the lake, the scenery is beautiful from every angle! The most special thing about the lake is that there is a small island, Bled Island, on the lake, which is a completely fairy-tale scenery. I think this place is perfectly underrated, absolutely gorgeous! This time I chose to hike here and go to the observation deck to see the scenery, and it was really worth the trip. There are also many things to do nearby: 1️⃣Hiking 🔸Walk along the lake. It takes three hours to walk around the lake. If you include the observation deck and the castle, it will probably take longer. 🔹 Lake Bled has two viewing platforms located on the mountain, called Osoinica and Mala Osoinica. The Mala Osoinica Observation Deck offers a panoramic view of Lake Bled. You have to walk on a muddy road to get there, which is difficult to walk on after the rain. It is recommended to wear non-slip and comfortable shoes! ! 2️⃣ Take a boat 🔸Take the traditional cruise ship Pletnas on Lake Bled to the small island in the middle of the lake, and get close to the lake surface on the boat. (18 Euro) 🔹Canoeing 3️⃣Castle Tour Bled Castle Town (ticket price 15 Euro, student ticket 9.5 Euro) is one of the oldest castles in Slovenia. There are restaurants and souvenirs on the castle. 4️⃣Go to the cafe to enjoy the lake view I heard that you must try the Cream cake in Bled, so we went to the Cafe by the lake to try it. The Cream cake was really delicious and not too sweet! The portion is quite big, perfect for two people to share! 5️⃣ Swimming in summer There is a swimming pool with a sea and sky color, which is only open in summer. 6️⃣ Camping There are different campsites, you can search on the official website. Transportation ◻️Take the bus to Lake Bled The bus to Lake Bled departs from the capital, Ljubljana. The journey takes about 70 minutes and the ticket price is 6 Euros (there are various discount tickets to choose from). In summer, the bus departs every hour, and in winter, the bus departs depending on weather conditions.
