🏡 Wat Ratchathithan Ratchaworawihan, a third-class royal temple, was originally built during the Ayutthaya period under the name "Wat Ngern" by Chao Khrua Ngern, the consort of Princess Sri Sudarak during the reign of King Rama I. It was later established as a royal temple. During the reign of King Rama II, the Queen Mother ordered the construction of the main chapel. The temple underwent major renovations during the reign of King Rama III, and in 1854, King Rama IV renamed it "Wat Ratchathithan." 📚 In 1952, the Fine Arts Department registered the main chapel and the viharn as national historical sites. Key attractions within the temple include: 🏠 The main chapel, built in 1988 on the site of the original viharn that had collapsed. It features traditional Thai architecture and houses the principal Buddha image, a Sukhothai-style metal Buddha in the Mara Vichaya posture, adorned with lacquer and gold leaf. ⛺ The small viharn, situated on a high base surrounded by a decorative wall.
