Indian food like no other I've ever eaten.

🇮🇳 Another world of coastal food in southern India. The only restaurant in Bangkok that I may not be familiar with. When I opened the menu, it was even more unfamiliar. JHOL - #Johol 🇮🇳 An Indian restaurant that transformed a house in the middle of Sukhumvit to welcome guests in a fine dining style by Chef Hari Nayak, a world-famous chef that many people know well. The chef will choose ingredients from southern Indian coastal recipes, which are mostly seafood 🦀, pepper, and coconut 🥥, to cook as if they were the original recipes that the chef is familiar with. 🚩 I came to try the premium tasting menu. ◾ Start with sparkling wine 🍷 or cocktails. ◾ Amuse bouche 🥒 Pickled cucumber mixed with yogurt Placed on spring roll pastry and topped with golden pineapple chutney 🍍 ◾ Chili pepper crab appam 🦀 Crab meat seasoned with a slight spiciness, placed on top of Appam, which is similar to Phuket's Apong dessert, made from rice flour and coconut milk, and topped with crispy fried purple sweet potato. ◾ Injipuli Pork ribs 🍖 These are ribs coated in tamarind sauce, made by simmering tamarind juice with palm sugar, topped with crispy ginger and shallots. The ribs are tender and the sauce is very juicy. ◾ Spicy Prawn Koliwada 🍤 Prawns stir-fried with curry paste, a South Indian dish, served hot, served with cold curd rice, which is rice mixed with yogurt (a Western Indian dish) served cold. Eating them together helps reduce the spiciness of the prawns. Before eating, mix it with the surrounding rice crackers. ◾ Kerala mutton roast🐑 A dish of lamb stir-fried with coconut shoots, pickled onions, shallots and topped with crispy roasted coconut meat, served with Parota dough, similar to roti dough. 🌈 Main course: ◾ Chettinad lamb shank with tatte idli 🍖 Lamb shank in black pepper sauce, from Chettinad, southern India, topped with crispy potato chips, served with Tatte idli, which is fermented rice dough. This dish looks like lamb shank massaman curry, but the taste is indescribably different. ◾ For dessert in the Tasting Menu set, you can choose between Mango Kulfi 🥭 (White Chocolate with mango sauce, served with lime cream and pistachio crumble) or Tender Coconut Kheer🥥 (rice in milk, sweet and creamy, served with coconut ice cream. and mango jelly) 📌 Tasting Menu has many prices, starting at 1,299++ and the set I ate was 1,999++. ++++++++++++++++++ I went with a group of people. In addition to ordering the Tasting Menu, we also tried ordering other A la carte menus quite a bit. ✅ Masala muska Bun served with pav bhaji butter 🥯 Very soft Masala muska Bun bread. Inside the bread is mashed potatoes with a light fragrant masala sauce, spread with pav bhaji butter made from vegetable curry, beaten and blended with butter, sprinkled with Gun powder Masala, a variety of spices. Eat everything together in one bite for the best taste. ✅ Chili pepper crab with egg appam 🦀 Crab meat stir-fried with chilli pepper, slightly spicy, served with appam with egg in the middle. When eating, break the appam flour, dip it in the egg and eat with Chilli Crab. ✅ Alleppey fish curry Fresh mackerel curry, served with cassava Boil with salt and turmeric powder until golden yellow and plump Indian matta red rice. The rice flavor is strong and clear. ✅ BADANEKAI ENNEGAYI 🍆 Eggplant curry with Niger beans stewed with Coconut Masala, a menu from the northern state of Karnataka. The taste is similar to lentil curry. If compared to Thailand, it is similar to Massaman curry. Served with Thecha Porotta, which is similar to roti dough. ✅ Kundapura Ghee roast chicken🐓 Seeing Dosa makes me feel relieved to eat familiar Indian food. This menu serves Dosa with Ghee roast chicken, which is a chicken baked with chili, a famous menu of South India. Served with real butter fat, served with Coconut chutney sauce, fragrant, rich, very compatible. ✅ Baby Banana 🍌 Indian bananas can be eaten with the skin, hahaha. It is made to look very realistic. The banana filling has a slight cardamom flavor. Eat with coffee ice cream. +++++++++++++++ 🎉 Overall, I consider it a fairly new Southern Indian food for me because I got to try an unfamiliar menu. It's a new experience. Anyone who wants to start with Indian food that isn't too spicy must try the fine dining South Indian food here.
