We just returned from a 7 night stay at the Opera Hotel. Excellent!!! Wonderful property and helpful staff. Would gladly stay again and recommend to others. Great location being close to the water, and only a short walk from the train station.

Worst hotel experience ever! I would not even give a 2 star to this hotel! +: location. This is it. -: don’t believe beautiful pictures you see on the website! The hotel doesn’t have a proper reception (combined with a bar), the staff is super unprofessional and rude. Especially the manager Alex Shreif, who was very agressive and rude to us, which made our Anniversary celebration at the hotel absolute disaster! The rooms are super old and dirty with scratches and spots ont he walls and floors, the room has almost no amenities, you hear everything as it’s an old building. The bed looked like in prison and made noises when moving. And this is for almost 300 chf per night off season! The manager refused us to change the room, as he said it’s what we booked, and on the top of that changed us with the Tourist tax, even if we are Zurich residents and it’s illegal. When we were showing him the quotes from the tourism office online, he said if we want we can call the Tourism office tomorrow. Never saw such a horrible service in a hotel worldwide! Shame on the Maili Selection hotels for the poor management!

Interesting hotel in a fantastic location. I have never checked into a hotel at a lobby bar but hey it worked. Fantastic location in Zurich one block from the LA k e with lots of cafes. Staff is friendly and rooms are clean with some good views. My advice would be to book the Superior rooms for 2 people. I booked the classic deluxe and did not realize a double bed is not a queen. lol...let's say it was a little tight...totally my fault. Would stay here again.

The hotel is not exactly as shown on website. It is not very modern and rooms are very small and a bit worn out. Our view though from our room was amazing. We could see the lake. Location is perfect, everything is walking distance.

its a good hotel but not great. Location is great close from the lake. Comfortable bed. I would not recommend their breakfast- very few choices. Also no bottle water in a room and no garbage box. Very small space. It was not a noisy area, slept well with an open windows.
