Probably one of the most relaxing and enjoyable hotel experiences I have had. We went to recharge our batteries and honestly could not fault the hotel or its staff. We upgraded to a junior suite and stayed in room 436 which had a huge balcony overlooking the main pool, with central sea view. Without exception, the staff were completely professional, friendly and warm, offering great service. Spa was good value compared to UK prices (around half the price) and my treatments were all enjoyable and carried out by female staff in a competent and professional manner. The member of staff who led the Aqua Aerobics each day was great and made the activity fun. The hotel was completely calm and peaceful, in a beautiful garden setting, with soothing piped music and a very relaxing vibe. Food/drinks, bar and restaurant service were excellent and breakfast and lunch could be taken outside on the restaurant balcony, with its lovely views. There was some live music in the main bar area each evening. The pianist in particular was exceptional. Not the place to go off-season if you’re looking for crowds and lively entertainment, but if you’re seeking quiet relaxation in beautiful, adult-focussed surroundings, you won’t be disappointed.

Wow, where to start with this review... It is a LONG review!! As a female solo traveler I have never felt so welcome as I have at this hotel. The credit goes to all the staff at this hotel. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with warm genuine smiles and welcomes, not the fake smiles. I was given a lovely welcome drink as I was checking in. My bags were taken to the room for me. My room (sea & pool view junior suite) was stunning. The balcony was huge with a huge comfy day bed & the view was amazing. The bed in the room was huge and I slept like a baby each night. I got to know the staff in the restaurants and they got to know me well with what I wanted. Always arriving to a pre prepared table with my drinks, checking on me if I needed anything. I like to people watch and again I noticed how attentive the staff were to everyone, genuinely interested, full of warmth and wanting to please, laughing and interacting with everyone. Nothing was too much trouble. I have travelled a lot all over the world and have never had such genuine kind people. The maid for my room was also lovely and friendly. I did not catch her name. The hotel despite being in the quiet season (February) there was plenty for me to do. I went to have treatments in the spa over three days, I am very particular about treatments and these did not disappoint. The spa manager also noticed I had fluid retention in my ankles and suggested I get that treatment instead of another I was looking at (lymph drainage). He was very knowledgeable & I am so pleased I got this as I did not know it was something that could help. I also did numerous excersize classes with the hotel personal trainer which were free to join and plenty to choose from 6 days a week. Dali is so friendly and is very knowledgeable. His pilates, stretch & meditation classes were excellent. Mehdi the shop owner was lovely too. I was very sad to leave this hotel. I came knowing nobody and left having made friends. I will be returning. The hotel is an absolute credit to every member of staff here. Big thanks to the Vin Diesel lookalike, reception manager Salah who was so warm and always full of smiles and making sure I was OK. Thank you all for your warm welcome and looking after me. Booked last minute via EasyJet, and it seemed like a good deal at the time. From the moment we walked into the hotel, we could tell this was a special place. Reception staff were very polite and professional, served us fresh lemon juice while we completed our paperwork, and upgraded us to a sea view room. The hotel and grounds are spotless, the room was great, spacious toilet, shower cubicle and bath. We booked half board, and the food in the restaurant was amazing. The waiting staff were very attentive and polite, in fact every member of staff in the hotel were amazing. Hawkers on the beach pushing for photos of their camels and horses were a pain, but after a few days didn't bother us. We booked a car and driver via hotel to visit Tunis, Cartage and Cidi bou said, was good value for a full day out, very good value.all in all, we couldn't fault what was a last minute booking to a place we'd never thought of going, would definitely stay here again.

The Oceana is an extremely impressive hotel. Check in was quick and efficient, and our bags were whisked away to our Suite. A huge room with a lovely side sea/garden view which got the early morning sun. Very clean and fully equipped. Lovely comfortable huge bed. The food was excellent. The hot cooked to order breakfast offerings were omelette, fried eggs, crepes and superb freshly cooked huge donuts with honey or sugar. Crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Vast selection of pastries, salads, die for breads, and specialties like Egyptian Bread Pudding, gorgeous. No complaints at all. Loads of cheeses, boiled eggs, and Tunisian specialities like Ojja, poached eggs cooked with tomato and peppers. Dinner was a feast, too much to describe, but with a North African feel. Vast selection, and plenty of more European choices if the local fare did not appeal. Being half board we paid for drinks, but they were very reasonable, pint of beer just over £3. The grounds are extensive and go down to the beach which is lovely. The staff are really friendly, with a good sense of humour. Nothing was too much trouble. Minor issues like bulbs changing or extra toilet paper were fixed almost instantly. Being low season the hotel was very quiet, but the service never suffered. Trip Advisor ratings say it all. 89% of reviews say excellent or very good, with 71% saying excellent. There are always a small number of people that are hard to please and give poor ratings, but our experience was excellent, a fabulous hotel. A big thank you to everyone at the Oceana.
