The Rez Guesthouse

An easy walk to the bay, this lovely guesthouse was our place for two nights while in Walvis. Carla, (I believe is her name, forgive me if wrong!) was a super professional front desk welcomer (possibly the owner?) and very helpful when needed. It's a well run establishment due to her vigilance. Everything is clear. Parking easy. I enjoyed running the 5K around Walvis Bay while my more adventurous partner went on a 4x4 Sandwich Bay excursion. There is a big mall nearby (if you have a vehicle) that will provide all things you might want from a grocery store, and more. When our flight was changed, and my phone didn't work well, I was able to use the house phone! Yay. That was an enormous relief. Sidenote: My husband became slightly ill before our departure flight, and he and I just chilled in the beautiful living area. I read all the books there (now I know many more tidbits about habitats in Namibia) while he was able to stretch out on the sofa. The staff brought him a blanket. How much that meant! Thank you everyone at The Rez!

Excellent opportunitiy to rest in an extraordinary guesthouse close to the coast line in Walvis Bay. The interior of room and living room well selected and decorated. Very helpful support of all staff members and management.

Great place, great decor and nice breakfast, I'll come again! Would have been nice to have Netflix in the rooms? Location is good, not to far from the ocean and a lovely walk next it, if that your thing!

As my wife and I were waiting to clear immigration in Walvis Bay, Namibia, to get off a cruise ship as we were both very sick and needed medical attention, we booked The Rez Guesthouse for two nights. They accommodated our early check in request, and as we were checking in a few short hours later, Malani, the proprietor, looked at my wife and said: You are not looking well. Do you want to see a doctor? - YESSSS! Within an hour, Malani arranged free transportation to see a private doctor. After examination, the doctor said my wife had to go to the hospital immediately as her lung capacity was dangerously low. Within an hour, my wife was admitted to the only private hospital in Walvis Bay. What does it all have to do with The Rez? A LOT! Malani went above and beyond what was expected of her. When you go on vacation, you don’t expect anything bad to happen. As we learned, it might. Malani literally saved us. And The Rez? Did I mention the nice location in an upscale residential neighborhood only 500 meters away from the waterfront, nice tasteful décor, a cozy courtyard, spacious rooms, upgraded bathrooms, great breakfast (try Ellen’s omelet), and referrals to carefully selected local vendors. It's easy to find a room online. But The Rez offers a lot more than that: a worry-free vacation in an exotic place. You can’t go wrong with The Rez, and you will certainly get your money’s worth.

During my stay in Luderitz, I was thoroughly impressed with the hospitality and the overall experience. The host and employees were remarkably friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that stood out. The rooms were not just clean, but impeccably maintained, showcasing a high standard of housekeeping. Moreover, the breakfast served was exceptional, offering a delightful start to the day. This place is highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort and quality service during their stay in Luderitz.

This is a beautiful well equipped guest house. Melanie is friendly and helpful. Good extra special continental breakfast. Beautiful furniture lots of relaxing spaces. Very neat. Beautiful rooms with own private porch. Drinks available and coffee machine 24 hours Thank you Melanie.

It was beautiful and quiet, and the staff were friendly and provided exceptional service. Highly recommend!

Booked on the spur of the moment we turned up hot and dusty and had a lovely welcome to a stylish guesthouse. Comfortable room and all the facilities and conveniences we would want. The staff were great too and happy to help with practicalities of our slightly complicated itinerary,

Beautiful space with the best coffee machine. Delicious breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Luxury linen but unfortunately a very short bed that was uncomfortable to sleep in with feet hanging out the bottom.
