Finlandia Hotel Aquarius

Breakfast only between 8 and 10, so all guests were nearly all together at the same time in the breakfast room. If both rooms were opened no problem. But today one was closed and the smallerone was opened...

Good location,good room and breakfast. Nice sea view. Would stay again.

It was basically the only hotel in Uusikaupunki that was near the harbour (we had booked a seal safari for the next day), so this is why we chose this hotel. The staff was friendly and they gave us good instructions. For example after the reception is closed you can only access the hotell via a door with you room key and the elevator stops working after reception is closed. The room was big and clean (including the bathroom). There was a small television (I would have liked a bigger one with better picture quality) and a minibar with a pricelist. We stayed on the 4th floor (there is in total 4 floors). Breakfast was on the second floor, same as the reception, bowling room and entrance of to the hotel. The breakfast was of small scale (one or two bread alternatives with ham, cheese and vegetables like tomato, cucumber and letuce. Youghurt, cereal, sausage, scrambled eggs boiled eggs, meatballs and porridge. There was coffee and juices, and some fruit and cake/muffin. There was glutenfree bread and glutenfree cereal.). The hotel was okay, but we got rudely awakened at night by hotel guests at 4am (they shoutet and screamed and slammed the doors, and they were drunk). So if you want a good sleep, take with you some airplugs so damp the noice (you can also easily hear normal chattering from other rooms through the air pipes). What suprised me (and stiked me as weird) was that the hotel's name is Aquarius, but the decor in the breakfast area was of middle age (swords on the walls..and so on..confusing).

Went there just quick get away from home one night, positively surprised, room was really clean, nice wiew, beds were good, (even candy at the pillow!), alltough there was only one extra pillow in the room, we would like to have 2, one for both beds, dont know if we could get that second one by asking from staff because reseption was already closed. Breakfast was little disapoint, we went 45min before serving stop, mostly empty plates left, even bread was all gone, good thing there was croissants left so we got kinda bread. On the menu we read that there supposed to be much more sorts, but, like i told, mostly empty plates left. No staff nearby so we couldnt ask for refill, so just coffee and croissant with salad and cheese for us. Def could go again, just have to remember, be early at breakfast!

Unfortunately location is the only positive that I can think of the hotel. We visited during the peak season when the hotel was full, hence the annoyances we experienced can’t be explained by operating the hotel with a skeleton crew. Most of these look like a management issues to me, not due to staff. The room was a bit shabby, yet fine, but immediately by the entrance and inside the room, we discovered a noticeable amount of sand and then some mosquitos squashed against the wall. (Mosquitos are expected even in urban areas, but not cleaning out the remain is not). This made us obviously think, what else has not been cleaned? Luckily, everything else of the room was acceptable, yet non-existing A/C during the summer heat was also a bit of a disappoin**ent. The breakfast was fairly simple and fully what we expected, but since we enjoyed it a bit after the rush hour, there was no plates, no glasses while some of the dishes had ran out, whilst the only staff member we saw appeared as extremely busy. As an icing on the cake, elevators don’t operate after 10pm, because there is no 24h staff at the lobby which is also a bar area. This was not a problem for us in a four flight building. Regardless, if you can’t take the stairs, make sure your room is in ground floor. Nothing was really extremely troublesome, yet I would expect the level of quality and service Aquarius offers from a budget hotel, but at its price point, Aquarius is simply not good value for money.

Blondit tytöt baaritiskin takana olivat todella ystävällisiä ja puheliaita, haastoin heitä hieman drinkkien teossa ja pienellä avustuksella naurun kera niissäkin onnistuttiin.

huonoin hotelli missä olen ollut 1 pieni (32") tv missä ei ollut youtubea tai netflixia. 2 aamupala buffettia ei ollut 3 sauna ei ollut 3 päivän aikana kuin 2h päällä silloinki oli todella kylmä 4 heidän järjestelmä temppuili meinattiin heittää ulos hotellista 1 päivä ennen vaikka olin maksanut kaiken etukäteen 5 siellä oli tapahtuma niin sai unta vasta 3 aikoihin yöllä eli kotirauhan häiritseminen en suosittele menemään tähän hotelliin koska hinta laatusuhde ei ole hyvä mielummin meette aittrannan hotelliin paremmat yöunet, parempi buffetti ja siistimpi paikka
