Hotel Los Yamanas

Loved the location by the water and the wildlife. Beautiful view from the room. Enjoyed the spa and the lovely staff

We stayed there 4 days, the hotel is quite far from the centre. We already knew that but they do not provide a transfer to the centre, such as other hotels like the Alto Calafate does. it is pretentious but not good. When we arrived after having payed 300.000 pesos, witch are about 1500USD the receptionist tells us that we had to pay 3800 USD!!!!! The administration had left them a handwritten note where it sayed that, totally disrespectful, they never apologized. The breakfast has bad coffee, a fruit salad that probably comes in a can, and very little options. They renewed the front desk but not the rooms wich are old. We hired the excursions from the hotel, that happens to own or be owned by a tourist agency. One of them was terrible, they put you inside an altered pick up, thouse originaly for 8 but these ones sit 8 people, 8 hours knocking the head against the ceiling without being able to see anything!!!! But the worst had yet to come. We were for, but 2 of us did not want the massage we had alredy payed, so the other 2 decided to take their massage as well, they didn´t let us!!!! We has payed for it!!! Unbelievable!! Terrible adminsitration, we had to make like 4 transfers because they kept changing the price and then this. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS PRETENTIOUS STILL PROVINICIAL HOTEL.

So we were booked into Los Yamanas for one night prior to our cruise on Crystal Endeavor, Los Yamanas was one of three hotels recommended by Crystal, on January 14 Crystal went into bankruptcy and our cruise was canceled. I notified Los Yamanas the next day. They already would have been aware of this as the Covid testing was supposed to happen at Los Yamanas. Because we opted for arrangements for flights and hotels we had to book direct. The two other hotels Arakur Ushuaia and Fuegino Hotel Pategonico either canceled the reservations outfight without charge or refunded funds without penalties. I contacted Los Yamanas several times without success, I eventually heard from the hotel on Feb 12 telling me they had no choice but to charge full room rate. They also has Had a terse one line response verbatim hence the poor English “I do apologize beacouse the Crystal Cruise ceasing operations. Its not our foult, Claims the refund to the Crystal Company” Everyone with canceled crystal cruises are in contact with Trustee handling and flights / hotels are not recoverable. So be aware if you book at Los Yamanas and you end up not able to travel. You will be charged 100%

This hotel was very bad, walls way too thin, all night you can hear the next door neighbors and people walking by, room not cleaned when we checked in, the food at the restaurant was horrible, egg shells in the salad and one of the worse burger I ever had , it was microwaved burger, the pool jacuzzi was dirty all around it , and they charge for everything even for their complimentary water when you check out. This was a disaster of a stay with the hotel. They insisted on changing our nightly rate from $151 to $252/nt because of our 2 children. They did inform us of this change before we arrived but did not respond to questions about how they could justify such a high price for 2 kids in a room that already has the sofa bed in it. The hotel management refused to even discuss the matter with us. We opted to stay anyway and when we got to the room the sofa bed was made up but a 3rd single bed in a side room was completely bare. What hotel leaves a bare mattress for their guests? The front desk insisted that we don't need that bed so they shouldn't have to provide sheets on it. There was also only 1 pillow for each person that was so soft that it is like not having anything but they told us that they didn't have any other pillows. We each had to sleep with the decorative pillows (you know - those unwashed ones!) under our bed pillows. Eventually they did make the third bed in the room with enough complaining and we did get a couple of extra pillows for subsequent nights but not enough. The other huge disappoin**ent is that the pool and gym are only open from 2:00 to 9:00 (and they make you wear a swimming cap). My husband typically goes to the hotel gyms while I am getting the kids to sleep and that was not an option here. We also intended to go to pool on a saturday morning before our other activities and could not. There is more but I am out of characters to typ

Excelente todo. Desayuno, las instalaciones, la pileta y sus instaciones, las las habitaciones. Todo 20 puntos. Para volver. La pasamos super. Es para recomendar. Esta lejos del centro, 10 minutos en uber. La atencion del personal excelente. Es para volver

Estuvimos en enero y la verdad que espectacular. Iba con desconfianza porque vi un par de comentarios negativos pero mi experiencia fue sumamente positiva. Muy amables los empleados sobretodo fede del Health Club. Lo único que no anduvo bien fue el wifi en las habitaciones pero resto súper bien. Después hay que tener en cuenta que está lejos del centro y no llega el colectivo así que hay que caminar 15 min hasta la parada, tomar un taxi o Uber o alquilar un auto. Ahhh y el colchón y la almohada eran comodísimos.
