Очень красивая территория,просторный номер. Красивый вид с балкона. Пешая доступность до пляжа. Из минусов:большая слышимость,живность под крышей не давала нормально спать по ночам (шум от бега,писки и крики). В целом довольны,понравится тем кто ищет уединения от суеты и любителям природы)

Главная ценность этого места - это персонал. Абсолютно все. Что не отмечено при бронировании, это отсутствие стекол в окнах. Они закрыты декоративными деревянными ставнями, тк отель оформлен в традиционном стиле. Но открыть эти ставни это слушать все звуки, которые итак неплохо слышно, а вечером залетят комары. Кто-то и не заметит, но мне было в небольшой по площади комнате без окон, без дневного света не очень. Матрас был удобный. Завтраки хорошие. Команда отеля вытягивает, но реновация номеров уже требуется))

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a great experience. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We ate in their restaurant the first night and had Sanjuli serving us - who was brilliant. The food was lovely with big portions. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and booked yoga for us. The yoga provided on site was a brilliant experience and very reasonably priced at 3,000 LKR pp for a 90 minute class. Overall would recommend.

We had lunch several times at Thambapanni restaurant located by the Unawatuna beach. The food was amazing and the hospitality of the staff was exceptional. Each time we were served by Indunil and he was so knowledgeable about not only what dishes were the best but also about where to visit and their history. His knowledge of the history of the area and the history of Sri Lanka in general was outstanding. All I can say is that he is a great asset to Thambapanni!!! Anyone visiting there should check him out. His amazing stories as well as his thoughtful service at the restaurant were delightful, second to none! Thank you Indunil.

If you're looking for a relaxing escape with a peaceful and serene ambiance, Thambapanni Retreat is the perfect place. The calmness of the environment truly soothes both the mind and soul. The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable, consistently going above and beyond to ensure that guests are well taken care of and feel right at home. Special mention goes to the chef, Mr. Lionel, who was exceptional. He expertly prepared any dish we requested, exactly to our taste, and with impressive speed. Additionally, Mr. Anil, the Restaurant Manager, was very accommodating, even arranging complimentary transport to access the amenities of their three sister hotels in Unawatuna, where guests can enjoy all facilities free of charge. The daily room service was impeccable, with everything kept spotlessly clean. Our stay at Thambapanni Retreat was an unforgettable experience, and we’re already looking forward to visiting again soon.

Pleasant hotel next around the corner of a lively street with many restaurants and shops. The small garden around the swimming pool is like an oases, with monkey’s in the tree. The staf of this hotel is very friendly and helpfull. And the restaurant serves very good fish dishes (catch of the day).

Firstly this probably merits 3.5 out of 5. The reason is I felt quite disappointed when we arrived, having booked directly with the hotel and asking for “Superior” rooms which bear no resemblance to the Superior ones shown on the well-known booking site. I initially thought we’d been given the wrong rooms and had to double check with reception . We had two rooms which at $96 per night were the most expensive of our trip. We don’t normally spend a lot on hotels so this was meant to be a treat at the end of a long tour. These rooms were pretty basic, smelt quite musty as they were built in to the rock face, had many steps to reach and the sofa in one room was torn. The mosquito net had several holes in it. I understand that Sri Lanka has had a rough time recently but to charge these kind of prices, especially in the low season is not really justifiable. The hotel really needs a good returb, and I noticed that the rooms below ours were being updated during our stay. Plus points were the staff - absolutely amazing, helpful and polite and the food which was delicious- try the fresh fish/seafood plates. Also it was really difficult to find! Put up a sign board! The hotel has some way to go before it can be accurately described as a “luxury boutique hotel”. Overpriced.

Fantastic hotel! In the morning at 6:15-6:30 you could see and feed three types of monkeys :-) Whent is midday and sun - swim at the pool, through jungle trees and taste fruit freshes. At the eve - you could have very tasty dinner in restoran. Service, clean and room service are great! Near from beach - one side 5 minutes walk and you could stay at the same hotel on the beach. Other side - 10 minutes walk with monkeys and birds Highl recommendations and big thank you hotel and the team!

Very nice, quiet and peaceful place. It's just a little walk from the beach. The rooms are nice and spacious. We had a Superior room, which was very quiet and had lots of privacy. We could sit on the terrace and listen to the birds and watch the monkeys on the surrounding trees. The staff is really nice, attentive and helpful. When we had problems with our Tuktuk one of the staff members helped us replacing the tyre. The Yoga class in the morning is really nice and a good way to start the day. Very good breakfast, lots of local food to try. Ver tasty and authentic. Thanks to the whole team for being so nice and friendly! We felt very much at home here!
