Oolala - Your Lake House in the Center of Udaipur

We only had three nights at Oolala and we loved it there. You couldn't ask for a warmer welcome from our hosts, who clearly enjoy hosting visitors in their guest house. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Opening the window in the morning and watching the local fishermen as the sun rose over the lake was memorable. Breakfast was included and so tasty - and seated at a table with other guests it was wonderful to exchange experiences and tips/ideas. A very reasonable laundry service compared to other places we stayed during our Indian holiday.

Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight! The location is superb, offering breathtaking views of the lake. The hospitality was top-notch, with friendly staff always ready to assist. A perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and natural beauty. Highly recommended!

We liked the hotel a lot, we were very good and confortable. Our room was the Green, It has balcony on the like, It was clean. Friendly staff. It is note possible to park there, but It wasn't a problema because them help us with the suitcases. Ver good breakfast

This amazing accommodation exceeded all expectations. The host extremely welcoming and helpful with tips of where to go and arranged transport if needed. The room was beautiful with a lovely view and I have to say the Indian breakfast was delicious.

Lovely, Jitu & Manis made for the perfect team making our end to end experience the best in Rajasthan! From the moment you are greeted you know you are in a loving welcoming home and that spills out into everything they do. Had the Green room and the views were well worth paying extra for. Location is a huge plus as you are close to everything while also being tucked away from road noise. Perfection.

oolala was our best and favorite stay in India we enjoyed our stay at near lake with wonderful host and place. Indian and continental choice in breakfast, everyday different flower available in breakfast with homemade. Best view from our room. Good shower pressure shampoo body wash hair dryer every thing available in room. Highly recommend this place. We would like to come back again. Thank you Lovely and jitu.

In March 2023 we booked an apartment for a 2-nights-stay during the Diwali-festivities in November 2023 via Booking? with confirmation. One week before arrival (we were already in India), we got a message that they had to cancel the room due to some issue... with no further explanation. Then, our Indian guide Mohsin Khan, called them to ask why. At first, the *** on the phone said that there were some plumbing issues in the room. He promised to call back but he didn't. Our guide phoned a second time. Now they said that they could give us an apartment for 1 night. They could not guarantee a 2 nights stay. So we had to search for another stay in Udaipur during Diwali. We were very dissappointed. We did not expect this from an accomodation with so ***y good reviews. So DON'T stay here! THEY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTY! They cancel whenever they want.

The place is really nice and cozy with views of the lake and excellent location! Lovely & Jitu helped as with everything we needed and made as feel like we were home. They suggested what we should see and where to eat in the city, accordingly to our itinerary and also helped us a lot with our transportation! Great hospitality ! Totally recommend!

Just spent a few days here, having booked directly some months ago. Previous reviews were the reason we chose the place. This small guest house is very traditional and we stayed in the best (and most expensive) room – The Green Room. It has super views and a small sunset facing balcony. Amenities are good: kettle, ceiling fans and air conditioning. The bed was on the firm side, which may bother some. The bathroom was relatively large with its own water heater. We had a couple of plumbing issues which the owners sorted quickly, demonstrating their commitment to the guest’s experience. The bathroom would benefit from detailed cleaning and we graciously raised this with the hosts, as I don’t believe in writing anything, you would no say to them directly. Certainly needs a good scrub with some bleach in the shower and round the toilet seat. Breakfast is simple and runs between 09:00am and 10:30am. The owners and housekeeper are present to serve you. Overall the owners are very engaged in assisting you with your visit to the city and provide a detailed overview on check-in. The location is great for exploring Udaipur by foot. It’s in a traditional alleyway with local neighbours. A few issues to consider if thinking of booking here: 1) Steep stairs with no lift. Housekeeper, Manish though will assist with luggage. 2) The accommodation is very close to a noisy wedding venue. The music largely ends at 10:30pm but it’s truly loud. This impacted significantly on 4 of our 6 nights. It’s beyond the owner’s control of course, but should be considered if thinking of booking in the main wedding season. You will have no peace. 3) Taxi/Car rates – better to source yourself and use Uber or Ola if you can. 4) Cash will be needed in full on check-in. Be prepared as you have no time to organize this yourself. 5) Rates generally are slightly on the high side. We certainly recommend Oolala to others. Book in confidence.
