Tabo Cottages

Second time at Tabo, this time with my mum. She can't stop raving about this place. We stayed at a Deluxe Room which was spacious and bright. Huge bathroom. The staff is super friendly and always helpfull. Breakfast buffet is amazing and the food in the restaurant as well. The whole property is well maintained and beautifully designed. I love all the small huts where you can sit. The pool is a bonus and the view is just awesome. Highly recommended.

Die Zimmer waren sehr schön. Der Garten mit dem Pool war sehr schön. Die Aussicht auf den See war sehr schön. Der freundliche Empfang war sehr schön. Der Marco war sehr schön( freundlich 😀)

We spent two nights at this hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a small veranda. The staff were friendly. The food was good and the grounds were attractive. A lovely swimming pool. Being a Saturday we were entertained with Batak dancing on the lawn.

A taste of the good life after travelling through Sumatra and trekking through the jungle. Wonderfully set in lush tropical gardens, the rooms are spacious and well appointed. All facilities are very good and the restaurant does fine food. Just outside there are many restaurants to choose from, all within a ten minute walk. Marco, the owners son is a very well educated, multilingual young man, and also a great guide for a day out in the hills and surrounding villages. I Highly recommended this hotel as a place to relax and recover.

Tabo Cottages was a great place to stay. More expensive than some lakeside accommodation but still amazing value. They managed to squeeze me in at the last minute on a busy long weekend. This meant I had to change from a gorgeous suite to a more basic room. Both very comfortable and had all I needed. The former was really lovely. Breakfast was great and the menu is varied, with plenty of veggie options. There is easy access to the lake and a decent sized swimming pool. The ferry to / from Parapat stops at the hotel’s own jetty. Best of all are the staff, everyone I encountered was just lovely - friendly, helpful and warm.

Best place we've stayed at during our 6 weeks of travelling around Indonesia. Staff is friendly, very professional and everyone understands and talks English very well. The standards of accommodation are very high and the rooms very clean. They even had enough warmwater for a long and hot shower. Good WiFi connection in rooms. The pool area and gardens are nice and relaxing. The restaurant menu is nothing extraordinary but the food was good and the breakfast buffet great with a lot of "western" food options.

Review I had the best time at Tabo cottages! The rooms are all that you need for a good price, the staff is friendly and professional, and the food is amazing (especially the bread from the German bakery)! On top of that, Samosir has beautiful nature and friendly people. It’s not yet run over with tourists so you can enjoy a peaceful stay. During the weekends there is live music and they have amazing home roasted coffee. You can relax at the pool and I enjoyed a good massage, but it’s also possible to go hiking or visit the coffee plants. I cannot think of a single negative thing to mention during my stay at Tabo Cottages. I even extended my stay there to enjoy more time in the relaxed atmosphere that surrounds the place! I would really recommend a visit to Tabo Cottages.

Enjoyed the large comfortable rooms with garden and lake views for three nights. There is a pool and places to relax and watch the birds in the garden. There is lovely use of Batak roofs around the hotel. Arrived by ferry from Parapat. The hotel arranged transport to and from Silangit with excellent communication. Also arranged a good tour of the main tourist sites through the hotel and a fun bike trip (you are dropped at the top of the mountain and ride down but note there are still some flat and uphill bits). Had a couple of yum lunches at the restaurant which has local and German influenced options. Breakfast is a modest buffet. We were there over a holiday weekend so there were lots of families with young kids. So the pool and breakfast were quite crowded but this didn’t detract from the visit. Especially with our lovely large veranda to retreat to. Appreciated water jugs in the room and access to water in the resto to reduce plastic. A great stay in this interesting and lovely town.

Absolute super resort. Ursula (the owner) is very flexible. We had a 6/7 day stay including new years diner and party. 7 persons and seeing the island of Samosir on the electric moto's. Food choice is ok but there are a zillion restaurants with a kilometer.
