Anantamaa Hotel

Our family had a wonderful and memorable stay at Amaranthé Bay Resort in Trincomalee, enjoying its peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere, excellent location, and clean, comfortable facilities. Beautiful hotel next to the beach with friendly and attentive service. Swimming in the great pool was lovely. Highly recommended.

We chose this hotel because the area is extremely difficult to find a good resort hotel. A long story short: this hotel is EXTREMELY overpriced! Should be good enough at max half of its price. Entrance was disappointing for this type of hotel. Swimming pool nicer on the pictures but was oke. Rooms very basic and Bathroom under the standards and a lot was broken. Stains on the sheets. Airconditioning needs to be replaced. Almost no sockets to charge our phones. Breakfast was a disaster... 20 people standing in queue for an egg... No place to move between the dishes... But the staff is VERY nice and friendly!!! They were helping in all possible ways. Room with better view + late checkout, BIG THANKS for that. Location of the hotel was perfect!! Beach access fantastic too! Would recommend this hotel but at max half the price.

We stayed here for approximately 3 days and found that there were a few pros and cons to this beautiful hotel. One of the pros is the fabulous location and private beach that was located next to our favourite little restaurant called your choice. The staff of this hotel were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself looked really nice and had a beautiful pool and restaurant. The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. It was located pretty centrally to still be able to walk around to a few other restaurants and all the diving places The cons. Unfortunately, and I'm not sure why the hotel did have a fairly strong smell of sewage throughout, including in the pool water, so I really didn't want to use the pool and spent most of the time on the beach. Our room had a fairly consistent smell of sewage. The rooms were a little bit dated. Our air conditioner seem to have been leaking and making constant groanings noises, so we had a pretty big puddle on the floor most of the time. Recommendations of using the laundry services just out the door of the hotel. The hotel amenities were quick and did a really great job but very expensive compared to the street laundry.

Very nice hotel pretty close to the beach. Rooms are clean and very comfortable and staff are very nice. We enjoyed the Sri Lankan breakfast and the 3 course dinner.

We had a great time staying at Anantamaa while at Tricomalee. The staff are very friendly and the rooms were clean and quite inviting. There is a pathway you can take to get to the beach and it sure is worth it. We spent most of our afternoon there. Nice Sri Lankan breakfast at the hotel as well.

The pool and outdoor areas are lovely here but the rooms are not the best. There's nowhere to put your things, no chairs, very bare accomodation. Disappointing. We weren't keen on the restaurant set up either ~ service at breakfast was relatively poor with cold food. Poorly managed. There is a path which leads down to the beach~ very handy and if you turn right you will soon come to Fernando's Beach Bar where we are both nights.

This hotel is charming - it is close to the beach which you get to by a short private walkway. The pool and gardens are beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable and the air conditioning works very well. One of our party had small items stolen from her suitcase, so be sure to lock up your bags when you go out. The food is delicious, especially the buffet breakfast. The staff were helpful and friendly. There is a small pool-side bar which has interesting happy hour cocktails. There is a small market place nearby. We had dinner in town, walking there or going by tuk tuk.
