Premier Inn Tonbridge

Was returning to Tonbridge for a school reunion and needed somewhere good value and convenient to stay for two nights with friends. The Premier Inn ticked all the boxes. Convenient & quiet location (15 minutes walk into the town), parking on site, pub/restaurant next door, comfortable rooms and great value for money. The only downsides were no fridge in the room (had to store milk on the windowsill!) and a horrible smell in the corridor from the next door room being aired out (presumably after an incident in there the previous night....) but other than that, everything was as expected. Staff were friendly and super helpful both in the hotel and the pub.

Exceptionally well run during the water crisis. Well done to the team and the bloke bringing bottles of water. The smell was in and the whole town was out of water. The restaurant was shut but the hotel did a good job trying their best to keep us comfortable with bottles of water.

This hotel is very convenient and affordable. I’m enjoying staying in January, but December with the purple Christmas decorations was even better (created by Izzy). Lovely attention to detail everywhere and staff extremely helpful and welcoming. Thank you.

Room was very nice as expected just very disappointed in amount of noise cleaners made in the morning. Banging doors etc. we were in the room next to the cleaners room and wanted a good rest in morning. This didn’t happen. Restaurant on site was very good though. Although a walk back to room and a separate pub so taking drinks back to your room was not an option.

Lovely, warm and welcoming staff. Very comfortable beds. Bathroom was perfect but mother would have liked a shower non-slip mat for the bath/shower. And a toilet roll instead of the toilet paper dispenser would be much nicer but those are the only down sides which were not an issue. Breakfast was a little bland on the sausages and bacon front. The eggs were excellent and the choice of food on offer was really good. This is a lovely place to stay and highly recommend.

We stay at Premier Inn around the country. Hotels are pretty standard but the one thing that let's them down is some of the food. Our room was OK although our room was at the end of the corridor outside staff quarters and supply cupboards bit noisy. The water was very low pressure and took ages for hot to come through. But the main disappointment was the food arangements. We had an evening meal at the vauxhall Inn next door the vegetables were very under cooked and the Young bar staff needed customer care training. We walked in on arrival without a booking, we were made to think we should have booked by the attitude, a table was found, an by the time we left still no other tables had been occupied. Breakfast which is always our favourite was cooked ok sausages were a bit anemic but the quality was not there. Breakfast times was only an hour and a half from 8 till 9.30 so we had to get up earlier than expected and felt rushed for breakfast although it was very empty on both days. Whitbread are closing many premier inns and beefeaters it seems the ones we like best are on their list. Not sure if this includes this one.
