Our check-in experience was the worst you can get during a stay. At check-in the main front office manager and i think his name is john anthony mentioned that the 2 standard rooms we booked were unavailable at the moment and he asked if me and my friends could share a suite room which we were ok with if there was enough space since it is just for a night. However when he showed us the suite rooms, they were pretty small and we were pretty sure all 4 of us would not be able to adjust in that room. We then told him since u dont have the standard room available, why dont you give 2 suites for which he said he can only give us 1 suite room that we share and if we take 1 more then well have to pay the difference to which we refused since it was not our problem that we were told right at check-in time that the rooms were unavailable. Then he says, if you wait for 2 hours more, well give you the standard rooms like we booked initially (no idea why he did not mention this earlier instead of trying to shift us all to a suite). Anyway we agreed to that and we waited in a room for the 2 standard rooms. Later since it was a coldplay event, 1 more friend decided to join us. I got a very upset and angry call from the reception saying we saw 1 more guy come ***** with you to the room and you mentioned both the room are only in double occupancy (please note that this friend had just come to the room to meet us at this point and not even decided whether to stay). The reception guy was super rude and told us that this is simply not allowed like we were doing something illegal. I told him what do you want us to do to which he said just keep your room door open (i mean what to say). We said ok we will do that. Later after some discussion we decided to let our friend stay in one of the rooms and well pay for the occupant. Our friends from 1 room were anyway checking out at late night 1am so the room was anyway vacant. Now the front office manager appears again at the reception and explains in a very passive aggressive tone, that he cannot do this. The rooms are booked for double occupancies only and it can only be on double occupancy. We asked him how can he deny a stay? And to help us figure this out. To which he says that our friend who is the third occupant will have to pay the full money for a night which is 4K and not just for the extra occupant which is usually 1K-1500 in hotels. We found this super funny as this is not the first hotel we are staying in. Anyway we figured this guy was clearly not in a frame of mind to understand and was adamant on making the whole experience terrible. However i would like to mention the room service boy ( a very young boy) who was extremely sweet And who made the stay a little bit more bearable and welcoming. Also the guy who was taking our calls from reception at night was extremely courteous and helpful. I am myself from a hotel industry and this was seriously disappointing to see.
