Hotel Rheinfels

Very comfortable beds and a great view on the river. The bathrooms feel very sterile; bathrooms in hospital have just about as much charm. No counter space to put your belongings on. The beds were pretty good. The hotel is very well situated in that you're in the heart of the city.

We had a very nice spacious room overlooking the river. Perfect walking location for the town. We had a wonderful fish lunch in their restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend visiting Stein am Reim -- it's a wonderfully picturesque town and this is a great place to stay there.

Very friendly staff. Got lucky and the office door was open so we left our bags and could explore town. Loved our sleek bathroom and the view from room 24 and loved that we had air conditioning which is so rare in older hotels. Restaurant was pricey but both fish dishes were superb. Reakfast was a touch boring but the rolls were warm and delicious. Room was big and well appointed. Definitely would stay again right on the river and so walkable to the train station and the town.

This town and hotel were perfectly matched - lovely and interesting. The check-in experience is a bit unusual in that there isn't a dedicated check-in desk, but any staff member you meet will immediately see that the appropriate person checks you in. We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor with dormer ceilings and a beautiful view of the river (Rhein) and the lovely houses across the river. While an historic structure overall (all kinds of interesting decor in the hallways and landings), the electrical outlets and bathrooms were of the 21st century - very convenient and fully functional. Beds and linens were sleek and comfortable. Breakfasts were as seen often in Germany and Switzerland and other European cities - lots of choices of meats, breads, cheeses, cereals, yogurts, etc and freshly cooked eggs upon request. Overall, we loved our experience in Stein am Rhein and at the Rheinfels hotel.

We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Rheinfels on a EV6 cycle trip. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with an old world charm. The bathroom was very modern. Location is ideal being on the Rhine and in the centre on town. It is only a 15 min walk to the strandbad for a refreshing swim in the crystal clear Rhine. Bike storage was in the rear of the hotel in a storage room accessible from a side road. Unfortunately we were unable to eat in the restaurant as it is closed on Wednesdays depending on the time of year. This doesn’t appear to be mentioned on booking websites but it is clearly stated on the Rheinfels website. You should check this if eating in the hotels restaurant is important to you, as the menu and setting look great. Overall a relaxing stay in a very picturesque town.

Hét hotel in Stein am Rhein, dominant aanwezig als je via de Rheinbrücke de stad binnenkomt. Het gebouw is historisch en zo ook alle kamers maar die zijn zeer smaakvol heringericht en voorzien van alle comfort. Het ontbijt was uitstekend en werd genomen op het grote terras van het vermaarde restaurant van het hotel. Onze kamer had ook zicht op de mooie Rijn en volop zomer zijnde konden we de duikers bewonderen die van de brug sprongen en zich dan lieten meedrijven met de sterke stroming. Zeer leuk hotel, een echte aanrader.
