For all sorts of reasons, my wife and I wanted to have a quiet Chris**as in the countryside this year. We found the delightful Castle Gardens near Bedale - it was perfect. The hosts, Diane and David were so attentive - nothing was too much for them. They even provided us with unexpected plates of what they called "cold cuts' which, in fact, were delightful plates of traditional Chris**as food with fresh salad. Our room was ideal. It was warm and well furnished. The bathroom was always warm and had an excellent walk in shower. There was a mini unit above the fridge with everything you could want for hot and cold drinks, yoghurts, fresh fruit and juices. We could make our porridge in the morning with a choice of fresh fruit to accompany it. If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay in this delightful part of North Yorkshire _ Masham is only about 7 miles away - then look no further.
