The Anvil Lodge

The Anvil Lodge is fabulous, great room, very spacious and decorated really tastefully. Breakfast was amazing very tasty certainly set us up for the day. The owner ( we failed to get his name 😞) was very friendly and chatted with a couple of times. The pub next door The Anvil has a range of real ale's that we both enjoyed. We didn't get disturbed by anyone leaving the pub during the evening/night so not an issue. We will certainly look at stopping here again for any future visits to Shifnal and surrounding areas.

Had a Great stay at the Anvil Lodge with Judy Mike and the lovely little pup Barney from late November into early December. The Meet and Greet was Mikes usually impeccable service with all requests for the trad Irish the following Morn. The Room was fresh warm and the bed was massive. There was ample milk tea making facilities with plenty of bickies on running out of bickies we were quickly supplied from Micks stash choccy digestive which we enjoyed that evening . The Shower following morning or choice of a bath water was as hot as you like with plenty of it good pressure from the shower with ease of heat control and ample shower body lotion and shampoo to give you that refreshing morning wake up call before heading down for that breakfast. So breakfast starters are a choice of drinks pure orange or blackcurrant followed by a multiple choice of cereals cornflakes Weetabix etc tea coffee and the piece of resistance that Full Irish or you can have it to suit your needs the Wife likes the yoke of the egg without the white and Mike was more that helpful in achieving our different requests, Judy was quite the ideal host in informing where the latest events were going on some of the best local pubs and restaurants to visit in the evening and keep us abreast of events in the RAF Museum Iron Bridge and for a bit of fun at Jurrasic Creek adventure Golf plenty to do and Shifnal is so central to Wales Liverpool and Birmingham so stay at Mike and Judys to sign off a wonderful stay Thank you so much cant wait to return in March 2024

Had a fantastic stay at this lovely guesthouse. From arriving to departing we were made to feel welcome. The room was immaculate, lovely big comfy bed, great en suite and to top it off a delicious breakfast. We will definately be staying here again.

Only spent one night here to visit family and to attend an 18th Birthday Party in Telford. (2/9/23) Wonderful welcome from the owners who helped us park in their private secure car park. "Booking in" was a pleasure showed us to our spotlessly clean and well equipped accommodation even asked us what time we would like breakfast and what where our preferences. The breakfast was like a banquet equal to any top ranked hotel I have stayed at in the past. All I can add is:- Thank You "WE WILL BE BACK" Trevor and Yvonne Wood (Rugby)

Got to the accommodation late in the day due to change of plan and entertaining a client. As soon as I pulled into the car park, host appeared and ordered me to explain why I was in his car park. Asked to book one nights stay and thought that would mellow the situation! It didn’t as walked around to reception where he was rude to my customer, whom was just trying to find the entrance to the pub we were eating in and not interested in the accommodation at all. Told me breakfast started at 7:30 - I had to leave by 7 so refused, not a big issue my choosing but the biscuits in the room, which I took to eat for breakfast were out of date by months!! Room was OK not overly clean and a little noisy as next to Road. Won’t be staying there again as much nicer (now I have looked) hotel very close with more amenities and very competitively priced. Lesson learnt and will do research first next time. (Yes there was a long black hair in the glass and holder in the bathroom, I have a shaven head so not mine)

Great place to stay, room was lovely, clean & bed was massive, very comfortable. Was greeted on car park on arrival & shown where to go to check in. Asked if wanted just continental or a full English breakfast, myself & my partner both opted for full English which was cooked lovely :) host are lovely & very friendly. Will defo stay here again!!

The guy that owns this place is a vile person, I accidentally parked my car on “his car park” and I was accused of parking there on several occasions, even though this was the first time visiting! I admittedly said I didn’t realise, and he continued to give me grief about the sign on the gate, that states no parking for the pub. Although admitting I was wrong didn’t change his temperament and he continued to mouth off. The car park was less than busy and had 3 cars on, one was mine and the other 2 were his so I’d expect him to let it slide as a misunderstanding. Yea I’m the person with the black Audi that had verbals from you before, and I wouldn’t be surprised if ornaments or picture had cameras in them as this is the vile disgusting person that you came across as. I wouldn’t stay here if I was homeless End

We chose the Anvil Lodge because of it's location in relation to where we were vising. It was ideal and less than thirty minutes drive to three pre-planned locations. Sited next to the Anvil Pub, not noisy, with it's own small and secure car park at the side The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The family room was large with a super king and single bed. The bathroon had both bath & shower. All was clean and in good condition. The cooked breakfast, prepared by Mike, was really tasty and a good start to the day. It was quite warm during our visit and there was a fan in the room which was very handy. A good experience.
