Nice team, no excuses and very proactive. Great place to stay for business or vacation. Close to nice places and parks. No need for a car if you enjoy walking. Metro station line 6 is too close to the hotel. 50 minutes walking to SNIEC (Shanghai New International Expo Centre). Nice Chinese noodle restaurants 3 minutes walking. It's important to have aliplay to make things. Thanks for the amazing experience during these 8 nights. I hope to be back soon.

The room was big, great space and price! Location is not bad, but indeed required to walk quite a bit prior to reaching hotel from metro station. Room is smart device enabled. Casting to the TV does have some limitations for foreign applications. Shower water pressure is good, amenities are good too.

The room is big and spacious, but the bathroom is a little tiny. Can’t change clothes inside the bathroom after shower. It is located almost a km from the nearest subway station but still walkable. Breakfast is provided for all guests, food generally quite good. One complaint is the breakfast ends at 9.30am, which is really too early for travellers who want to relax and enjoy their sleep. If can extend it to 10.30am or even 10am, it would be great.

I didn't imagine this hotel would be so good. It's such a nice place, conveniently located in the middle of everything—food, shopping, and transportation. The room was excellent, and the service was great.

I think I got a smaller room at first, and the staff mentioned the air conditioner might not work properly. But they fixed it the next day by moving us to the right room and even gave us free breakfasts as compensation. The staff were super helpful, even though they didn’t speak English—they used a translation app to communicate. Breakfast was really nice (you can even order wonton and noodle soups) The rooms seem to be non-smoking, but I did notice some guests smoking in the hallways. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The staff were great, and the location is right next to a subway station.

The service was beyond my expectation! I arrived quite late since I came across province (from Hangzhou) and need to prepare myself in order to travel to South Korea and Japan on the next day. So I planned to wash my clothes and repack my luggage here. When I arrived here, they asked a lot of questions in case I need anything. They even have a free dumpling soup (เกี๊ยวน้ำ) during 10-11 PM. I prepared my noodles cups to eat here at first since I researched that not many restaurant surrounded, so they helped my cooked the cup noodles with their coffee machine (for boiled water) and I can had them with free dumpling soups. Felt good! Washing machines are downstairs, I couldn’t used it since I had no Chinese numbers, so the receptionist helped me too, and the laundry is free here, too. So I can see many people had the dumpling soup while waiting for their laundry. Full of people in the lobby during 10-11 PM. Never expected to see this. The room was nice too. Not big but enough space, with a great view of Shanghai. Comfortable room with enough ventilation. I hope I can come back staying here again one day!

The reception staff were great—Jun Jun was especially kind and helpful. The hotel room was clean and comfortable, but the price was a bit high for the standard provided. The soundproofing was poor—I could hear people talking and walking in the hallway. The worst part? I even heard a woman in the next room moaning loudly… so awkward! Haha! I wouldn’t say this is the best hotel, especially since the rooms don’t have a nice view. But on the plus side, there’s a shopping mall right across the street, and the metro station is just a 3-minute walk away.

I have stayed in multiple hotels in SH. Including The Conrad, Renaissance, Pudong Intercontinental and Maxx. Maxx is definitely a hotel with Character, Style, and Color. unlike your everyday & everywhere the same ‘typical 5* hotel’ it has many ‘caring’ features for a truly delightful experience. the flowery scent of the lobby area and the service coffee machine and tomatoes in the lobby, are just some of the small but very delicate warmth that I felt while staying at Maxx. the wooden floor in the room was very good too, especially with kids because carpet floors, how ever much you clean, it does have that raggedy smell with time. but not at maxx. The view? second to none obviously. the location? prime - right in front of the ferry to pudong. and 5-10mins from yuyuan gardens. Especially, the staff. I have had my share of rather unfriendly staff in China. But all of maxx’s staff were sooooo friendly and warm and kind. the door men (both Chinese and western person) - they helped us every time we went up and down the entrance stairs with our pram with the baby, and the check in staff were so caring too. And i see a lot of people complaining about the fact that the staff are not fluent in English. Bro, turn on your google translate man. you are half way across the Earth in China, and no where does it say anywhere ‘our staff are fluent in English’ - ‘when in Rome…’ - But to be fair, Maxx had multiple lady staff who were sufficient in English to my surprise, and she was really nice and helpful. (please give her a raise lol). Anyway I will definitely stay here again w/o even looking at other hotels in SH for sure. 10/10.

Overall great experience. Great location and amenities. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast options. Friendly staff. A little bit of air con noise and bed is a bit on the firm side but tolerable. We stayed in a family room and it would be great to have a children’s stepping stool for washing hands etc. Also make sure you bring enough clothes. Laundry service is very expensive and takes 2 days on average.

Wonderful experience! All the staff were attentive, polite, helpful and so accommodating to our needs and questions. The hotel has laundry facilities and a gym, free to use. Breakfast was a good spread, Chinese style mainly. Right next to Yu Garden and crossing a few streets takes you to the Bund. The rooms look like their photos and the “XiaoDu”AI operating the room is such fun, just that it only speaks Chinese. We truly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely come back.
