Hotels in Huaihai Road Area/Xintiandi Area, Shanghai

Went to the langham to celebrate my wife’s birthday at the executive lounge and it was amazing! They decorated the room and it caught my wife with a surprise. A big shoutout to all the staff, especially Shirley and James for making our time wonderful.

Location: Strategically located near to The Bund, Nanjing Pedestrian Street and Yuyuan Garden. Nearest metro station is Yuyuan Garden which is about 10-15 mins walk. Or you can take DiDi to the station which costs not more than 15RMB. Room and toilet: Room is clean and comes with 2 bottles of water daily. You can always ask for more water from the reception. Toilet is also clean. Basic amenities like toothbrush is provided upon request. There is hair dryer, electric kettle, tea and instant coffee, mini fridge provided in the room. Price: Definitely value for money. Others: Hot water and tea bags are provided at the hotel lobby. There is also a foosball table at the lobby if you’re up for some games. There is a convenience store next to the hotel where you can get some bread, snacks, all kinds of bottled drinks, ice cream and basic necessities.

I had a comfortable stay at the Jin Jiang Tower. The location is great—close to shopping streets and the metro, which made getting around easy. The room was clean and spacious, with a great view of the city. Staff were polite and helpful, though not all spoke fluent English. The breakfast buffet had a decent variety. Overall, a solid choice for a stay in central Shanghai.

I’m very surprised to have found this hotel in such a prime location, easily accessible by metro LINE 1, 10 & 13. Walking distance to Xintiandi Area. The room is uniquely designed and well equipped with amenities (including safe box and body lotion that other similar budget hotels don’t provide. The only obvious downside I have experienced is the noise from the construction nearby and from neighbors who woke me up in the middle of the night. I guess the room is not sound-proof. Other than that, I pretty much enjoy staying here.

Room is clean and very convenient to order food delivery as the front desk gets the robots to deliver items to room.   One of the Front Desk colleagues couldn't direct me to the nearest metro station but that should be standard knowledge for them to help guests get around the neighbourhood.   It is an ideal neighbourhood to stay in if you like to be in a central area while having a quiet place to stay with lots of cafes.   The room itself is very small and only some hangers on the wall (ie. no closet or wardrobe).  I wish the bathroom would have more hooks on the wall to hang my own clothes.   The pool is perfect as it's a 25m pool with a deep end.  Has a swimsuit dryer as well.   Overall, a great stay due to its cleanliness, convenience, pool, and location.  Just very small.

Unbeatable location, 5mins walk from Xintiandi plaza (and the metro station entrance is there too), another 5 mins to Xintiandi itself. Breakfast is decent, it's a semi buffet breakfast, you get the salad, cold cuts, bread/pastry on buffet. the mains are ala carte. The mains selections is limited, but it is cook on order. so you will get them hot. Quality of food is good. Rooms are big, you get a full kitchen with a washing machine. Very convenient.

Best location for me. The hotel is historical and located in the heart of the old central Shanghai district, surrounded by most of the chic bars and restaurants. Although the interior is outdated, it is still very clean and well maintained.

Lovely hotel within the French concession area. Photos are accurate and the building really does look like a castle. Breakfast  buffet was very tasty with a very good selection. Quiet at night even though it’s within the heart of downtown Shanghai. The stay was near perfect and I highly recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the Riverdale Residence Xintiandi Shanghai hotel. It was convenient to the metro station and bus stops, which allowed us to explore Shanghai without having to worry how to get to places. The hotel staff had great service and the hotel room was spacious and had everything we needed including a combo washing machine, dryer and laundry powder.

Convenient & Comfortable, But Air Conditioning Issues This hotel has a fantastic location right above Line 8 Dashijie Metro Station, making it extremely easy to explore Shanghai. Car hailing services can pick up and drop off directly in front, which is very convenient. The beds were comfortable and the shower had strong water pressure, a big plus. The breakfast was decent, though the variety didn’t change much during our stay. The staff were helpful, and a few spoke English, which was great for communication. A standout feature was the bidet in the toilet, something rare to find in China and much appreciated! However, the air conditioning wasn’t working during our 3 night stay due to the hotel’s old system requiring maintenance. We were given a table fan, which wasn’t ideal, especially in warmer weather. The hotel did offer us the option to cancel our stay, but we decided to stay because of the many other positives. Overall, this is a good hotel with great amenities and service, but the AC issue was a significant downside. If that gets fixed, it would be a much smoother experience.
