5 Star location, 2 Star room (Classic Double).

Great views, lovely pool. Lovely cocktails, however a little pricey. Lunch could be improved. Lots of flies at the pool. Room is quite small but has everything you need.

Hotel Vis à Vis was an incredible addition to our Italy trip. It is very easy to take train into the Sestri Levante train station, but you can drive or take a private transfer from the hotel from many convenient locations. We stayed in a Superior Sea View Room and a Suite Levante which were across the hall from each other. The room keys were cute little rocks with yarn! The view from the suite was beautiful, facing the town and mountains, but the panorama from the sea view room was unbeatable. The view you see in pictures is even better! The promontory and two bays feel like they are right in front of you, and from the privileged position on the mountain, you can see everything! There is also an incredible elevator to the pedestrian area downtown that my family called a warp because we got from the top of the mountain to deep in the town within minutes. The town is a gorgeous Italian town with restaurants and gelato galore. Portofino and the Cinque Terre are very close as well. There was a beautiful, secluded pool that was almost private in the morning. The one caveat is that the restrooms are small, however than is typical for Italy. Hotel Vis à Vis is an incredible choice for an Italian vacation, especially for a family.

What a splendid hotel in a wonderful location. Views over the Bay of the Fables towards Portofino and the Bay of Silence are great. The hotel rooms may not look the most modern but are very comfortable. If you would rather be in a place that looks like a Holiday Inn that's your choice. We went there to celebrate our son's Silver Wedding anniversary with family and friends and had a great party in the roof top restaurant. The staff could not have been more accomodating and were excellent as was the food. Breakfast is more than adequate. I mean, as long as there is plenty of bacon, which there is, what else is their not to like. Roof top bar and restaurant has marvellous views and I really enjoyed the tunnel from the ground level street that takes you to a single lift which then takes you up through the rock to the reception. A bit like something out of 'The Prisoner' with Patrick McGoohan. Altogether a wonderful experience and we will return as soon as we can.

This is a lovely hotel with wonderful views over both bays in Sestri Levante from the roof top bar and dining room. The breakfast had great variety to choose from. The evening meal was fine dining and so not to everyone's taste or price level which was a pity as it was a lovely place to eat and savour the views. The bar was the same €15 per drink which came with a number of tasty tapas but not necessarily what you want before going for dinner. Our room was very small not a place to do more than sleep but had a lovely garden with numerous choices of seating. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed.

Super nice hotel located in a small, cosy coastal city - not overrun with American cruise tourists as in cinque terre. We loved everything about the hotel from cleanliness, comfortable rooms, view, heated pool to the friendly staff and nice breakfast. Highly recommended :-)

Excellent room, excellent view for the bay, professional staff in Reception and HSK. Nice gentleman, who helped us enter the parking space. Poor breakfast for a four star Hotel. An unpleasant situation - an older waiter who yelled at me because I dared to ask for coffee. I will remember that.

Excellent location, rooms , service, parking and Superb view. Restaurant is top quality. Access to local train stations and transportation very convenient.Will definitely come back in the future and will highly recommend to family and friends.

We had a room with 2 balconies, 1 with views of the sea & 1 with views of the town. We didn’t have the best weather but made the most of it. The staff were very helpful on check-in & even took us up to our room to show us how things worked. Valet parking was excellent & our bags were quick to be brought up to our room. The room was a little old & dated, but functional. Thank you for the complimentary sparking wine, it was great. Breakfast each day was amazing, probably the best of our Europe trip. So much variety. It was great to have the elevator down to the street, we used it quite a lot. The staff were helpful in suggesting what to do one both our 2nd day & once we were checking out & heading to our next destination. They were always engaging & polite if we walked past the reception desk, very friendly. My son loved the pool, though he was the only one in there most times. because the weather wasn’t that warm.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. Excellent breakfast selection every day and perfect service from all staff. Very comfortable room including the bed and bedding and very clean. Because of the hotels position the views are amazing.

When we checked in there was a small hiccup. The clerk asked if we wanted an upgrade and we said yes. There must have been a language barrier misunderstanding because the clerk thought we would appreciate a better view even if the room was super dated. By the time we cleared this up, they had sold our original room and we had to move into another updated room without a view. We were disappointed and asked to speak to the manager the next morning. Bottom line if your American don’t book an older room unless you want to want to take a nostalgic trip back to the 1970’s. The next day the manager took full responsibility and gave us a very fair adjustment for the room downgrade and inconvenience. More importantly, she assured us that the clerk’s true intent was to upgrade us and we believe her. With that behind us, let me just say how spectacular this property is. The view at breakfast is breathtaking. The service is attentive and the rooftop bar tender Umberto is a real pro. Phenomenal cocktails served on a breezy rooftop with views that melt away your stress.
