Hotel Antares

This hotel is excellent. It was our second visit in two years. Very convenient location; helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and delicious restaurant. Alessandro, the restaurant manager, is excellent and the food is top-notch! We came with a ski group of 44 people and they accommodated us beautifully without any problems or complaints from our skiers. Highly recommend Hotel Antares in Selva.

I have just returned from the best holiday in the snow I have ever had. Hotel Antares is a fabulous place to stay, with friendly and professional staff who work tirelessly to ensure that you have a fantastic stay. The restaurant staff were brilliant and extremely helpful. The 5 course menu was always delicious and staff were happy to accommodate you, with a variety of options if the menu wasn't to your taste. Nothing was too much for them. Breakfast was great too with a wide selection to choose from. After a days skiing or walking, hot soup, bread, a selection of meats and cake greet you in the bar, which is a warm welcome after being out in the cold. In the reception area, is a welcoming fire that I found to be a lovely place to sit and read a book. The spa and pool were great places to unwind. Outside of the bar area was a gorgeous fire pit surrounded by Christmas trees, it was magical. There are supermarkets very close by, along with a chemist and nice little gift shops. I definitely hope to return next winter, I loved every minute of my stay. Would definitely recommend a Winter break here in the beautiful Dolomites. Just WOW!

We stayed at the Antares as a family of four with two teenagers. We booked as a package via Inghams. The location is great for access to the ski lifts and also the local town centre amenities. This is a great base if you plan to do the Sella Ronda circuit. We stayed in two classic rooms which were large and comfortable. Everything was kept immaculately clean. The bedrooms and dining room were fairly traditionally styled but the rest of the hotel had a more modern feel. We were on a half board basis and the food was delicious and plentiful. We have one vegetarian which was no problem and there was always an option for each of the five courses. Every member of staff we had contact with was helpful and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. There's a lovely cosy bar area for evenings. Also an apres ski buffet in the afternoons which we didn't go to but is a nice touch. We only went to the pool area once as it had to be pre-booked. It's a nice area for relaxing at the end of the day. We didn't use the spa. All in all, the Antares is a great location for a ski holiday and definitely one to recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at hotel Antares over Christmas which we booked through Inghams. Our room was one that has recently been refurbished, beautiful decor and lovely and warm. The hotel is situated a very short walk from Ciampioni cable car and the ski storage facilities are excellent - secure lockers and heated boot driers. The facilities are great - we used the spa, swimming pool and gym during our stay. The facial I had was wonderful and very good value compared to UK prices! The food was outstanding, 5 courses every night with vegetarian options and some flexibility if you wanted to double up on one course and not another. The quality of the food was exquisite and the Christmas Eve banquet was one of the best meals we have eaten. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating - we forgot a screwdriver to attach snowboard bindings so it was no trouble for them to source this. The bar was a lovely cosy spot to enjoy a drink and play some cards. All in all a magical stay for our Christmas break. Brilliant hotel, we will be back!

Selva val di Gardena is well equiped with numerous self-contained apartments for the winter ski season so there is a lot to choose from. There are local buses that travel up and down the valley and these are free if the hotel is affiliated to the tourism body. Our 2-bedroom apartment had generous spaces with two large bedrooms, a large bathroom with great shower over a spa bath, kitchen facilities for self-catering, and dining area plus a lounge seating area. Beds were very comfy. Free fast wifi included. The building also had a laundry area, but only one washing machine and dryer, so there was alsways a wait to use these facilities – it would be worse in winter. There was also a swimming pool and spa, gym, restaurant and bar facilities, plus car parking. Check in at Reception was straight forward. We would definitely stay here again.

My friends and I have been to Antares multiple times, and we are always incredibly satisfied. This time we appreciated the improved locker system and the always-perfect room service & cleaning, but also got disappointed with the restaurant. We have seen a clear decrease in restaurant service quality and a slight decline in food quality. Our waitresses and waiters had very low knowledge about the menu and even lower about wines. The food was good but not as amazing as on our last visit, 3 years ago.
