When looking for a hotel, I read reviews so when I write one, I think of what I would want to know ahead of time. To start, the hotel itself is lovely. Beautiful garden, lobby area is clean, and the lounge area is very nice. It seems to me like all rooms have a balcony (plus!). My room was expansive (which is nice because a lot of older cities have old buildings with small rooms). It was interesting that I walked into the bathroom first and then the room was behind it but didn't bother me. The decor is very Tex-Mex and I liked it. I only did room service as I was there for business travel and while a tad expensive (aren't all room service? ;) everything I ate was delicious! The downside? The outdoor restaurant has a DJ - either that or a very loud music speaker - that goes on until midnight on weekends. No white noise drowns out the bass of loud music. I was there for business as were many in the hotel at the time for a conference so it was hard to sleep and we had to wake up very early. While I can appreciate a social offering, at the end of the day, ultimately a hotel's intent is a place to sleep. Had I been there in another context and not work then maybe I'd be down for that vibe. That's what I wish I had known before booking.
