The Farmhouse at Veritas

This Bed and Breakfast offers true 5 Star Service. The rooms are all large and unique. the breakfast was out of this world. They really focus on service they strive to keep everyone comfortable and happy. We did have dinner one evening of our two night stay and the wine was delicious and service again was equal to a 5 star restaurant. The chef's are personable and will make any dietary accomodation that you request. The bedding is luxurious, the grounds stunning. Its a great overnight if you want to enjoy the Virginia wine country.

As I reflect on 2021, one of our most memorable experiences was our stay at the Farmhouse at Veritas. We attended a wedding over LaborDay weekend and decided to spend 2 nights at the Farmhouse. The hospitality started before we even arrived. I had booked a room on the second floor far in advance of the wedding. Subsequent to that I had surgery and could not navigate the stairs. The staff was kind enough to call other patrons and we were able to switch to the room on the first floor. The experience once we arrived was fabulous. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was updated. We had a delicious breakfast each morning out on the patio which included champagne and fresh orange juice. The chef came out to explain each dish. In the afternoon warm chocolate chip cookies were available and at 5 on each day there was a happy hour where can sample several of their wines. To top off our visit we also attended the four course dinner with wine pairings. The food was outstanding and the presentation of each course was Michelin star worthy. This was also another chance to sample their wines. To say the least, I would highly recommend Veritas to everyone.

We visited to celebrate a birthday, and could not have asked for more! We checked in to our room (Cornwall) around 4.30pm. It was immaculate - very clean, spacious and with a reading 'nook' and plenty of storage. The bed is huge, and was so, so comfortable. It was complete with a variety of USB chargers for mobile phones and a wider range of complimentary toiletries and a bottle of wine - great details! There are plenty of other areas, outside of the room, to read/ relax - sofas, verandas, porch, garden etc. You instantly feel revived, and I wished we had arrived earlier! There were fresh cookies and coffee/tea/soft drinks available throughout our time, and a shared fridge for resident use too. 5-6pm is 'wine hour' in the 'Gathering Room' (a cozy lounge with fire, sofas, books and a billiard table) with complimentary wine and a plate of small nibbles each. The Farmhouse really does elevate "Bed and Breakfast" to a whole new (fantastic) level! The evening meal (which you can book without staying), officially began at 6.15pm with a glass of sparkling wine, before we moved to our tables. The 4-course meal (no choices, although they cater for allergies etc - that suited us fine) pairs wine with the food - we were pleased to be staying over rather than one of us having to abstain and drive! The meal was European in style - small, perfectly cooked and presented portions which were a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. The service was slick and, apart from a small delay before we started, was very efficient. Breakfast the following morning was equally wonderful - sparkling wine, fresh orange juice and coffee, a croissant with homemade sweet cream cheese, fresh fruit followed by a choice of savoury or sweet 'main course'. As we left, we were sent away with a couple more cookies for the journey, and a lasting positive impression of a wonderful stay.

What a beautiful B&B. Our room was lovely, comfy bed, ALL channels available on the TV and loved our welcome bottle of Veritas wine. The vineyard and farm are beautiful, and their wine tasting venue is not to be missed. Wow. And the wine pairing dinner! Simple elegance with outstanding food and service. An experience not to be missed. We loved it and will return.

What a wonderful experience from start to finish! Went to the vineyard tasting room in the afternoon upon our arrival. Excellent wines and views of the property. Stayed at the Farmhouse in the Devon room and was very pleased with the house, service and availability to sit in many different area of the house and relax. That night, had the fabulous 4 course meal prepared by chefs Cody and Rafael. Each course was delicious and paired with a chosen wine. Danielle David, the service manager and Keily (a server) were very attentive as were all of the servers. The next day for breakfast, the chefs once again preparer a fantastic made to order meal. He even came out to our table and explained the choices and described the meal! Truly a wonderful visit in a beautiful part of Virginia!

Our trip to The Farmhouse at Veritas was just what I needed to renew and energize. The summer was so busy and September was stressful. An early October stay at The Farmhouse brought back my mental and physical fortitude. The staff was incredible, the accommodations were perfect, and the food paired perfectly with the wine. The chefs at The Farmhouse are excellent and the waitstaff during meals are so attentive. The innkeepers made certain every request was fulfilled. I highly recommend The Farmhouse at Veritas.

Spent a night at The Farmhouse at Veritas, a absolutely wonderful experience. We had planned on arriving around 3pm, however traffic delays got us there around 4pm. Our room (Nottingham) was excellent. After check in we went to the Tasting Room, also excellent. After a quick glass of Veritas wine it was back to the Farmhouse where we spent a delightful hour on the porch with the owner and the property manager (and a few more glasses of Veritas wine). We did not partake in the offered 4 course meal, however those guests that did reported that it was also excellent. We declined as we had been eating big meals at Bil**ore and our waistline was suffering, so we went a lighter route. When (not if) we return we will certainly dine at The Farmhouse. The room was quiet and comfortable, and next morning we stayed for the included breakfast which is not to be missed! The Farmhouse at Veritas is a absolute delight and should not be missed.

Our stay at the Farmhouse at Veritas was lovely. We were traveling with another couple, and the Barn Cottage was perfect with 2 BR and 2 baths. The breakfast was delicious, and nice that they offered a savory or sweet selection.

I booked two nights here to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary and I am now a hero in my wife's eyes. We arrived about an hour before the 3pm check-in and were invited to relax in any seating area (there are plenty on and off the various porches), or walk the beautiful grounds. It did not take the full hour before we were shown to our beautiful room with views of their vineyards and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Though all rooms were occupied, if you wanted solitude for reading (or knotting), it was easy to find your own space. Throughout the day, there was coffee, tea, and freshly baked cookies always available. Walking the grounds was enjoyable with horses, sheep, and a friendly donkey to interact with. Their wonderful winery (good wine and food) is a simple 10-minute walk from the house. Their breakfast was incredible. We elected to venture out rather than have dinner but other guests raved about it. All in all, it was a relaxing, tasty, 5-star experience. If we celebrate another anniversary, we shall return.
