Casa 48 Guesthouse

Grubby, character lacking, back sunded hostel miles from anywhere. Does not look like pictures or meet expectations from description. The hostel is located over two floors. During the first few nights I was on the top floor in a room on the side of the street with a small window facing onto it. The owner sat right outside the room most of the time on a desk in common space so when I wanted to cross the main room to use the toilet or even just sit in the common room I felt as though I couldn’t relax. He also would sit in that desk like he was monitoring everything. He wasn’t overly friendly. In the early evening his 1 year old child would play on the table, which is always covered by toys and books and not anything like the picture, so it was hard to relax again. This was especially disappointing as this guest house is so far away you can’t just pop back in the day so when you do get back after been tired from sightseeing etc a screaming child taking up the whole spare is the last thing you want. I’m not sure they cleaned the top area the whole time whilst I was there and it felt dirty. The showers were also cold. The downstairs ones were better but still luke warm. During the last two nights I got put downstairs which was better as finally I felt like I had some space to relax. The kitchen was dirty though and Ill equipped. Apart from the view which is nice, this guest house is not worth it. Very disappointing.

Awesome place with amazing view on Rio. Rooms are comfortable with all necessities. The main room is friendly and the place close to Santa Teresa district with nice places to go out ! Ask Axel for trips, tips and recommandations for your trip, he is the man for your journey !

Casa 48 is perfect to stay a few days in Rio. Hidden in Santa Teresa hill, you'll discover a very charming area full of old Portuguese architecture, restaurants, events and exhibitions. Valentin and Axel, the two owners will give you lots of helpful tips to visit Rio. The rooms are simple but we had the best sleep. You'll wake up in front of a stunning view of the bay. Attached to the Casa, Eddy is making delicious handmade pizzas on weekends. We definitely recommend this pousada for a truly authentic experience.

Halte très chaleureuse. La vue fantastique, les caipirinha top, les tapas gourmandes, le chat Rafi qui ronronne, les bons conseils de Félix et d Axel , on poserait bien les valises pour un long moment pour bien s imprégner de ce quartier de Santa Teresa à ne rater sous aucun prétexte lorsque vous passerez par Rio!

La Casa48 est un lieu à part, bien sûr tout n'est pas parfait mais le principal est ce que vous ne trouverez pas ailleurs. D'abord, la vue incroyable sur le pain de sucre ensuite c'est le contact direct et chaleureux avec les personnes qui vivent dans la favela, ils deviennent rapidement des amis à qui l'on promet de revenir bientôt. Les chambres ont le bon gout de la simplicité on devine une histoire derrière tous les objets qui les décore mais la grande richesse de la Casa 48 c'est Valentin, il vous donne toujours un conseil pour une plage, un restaurant ou un endroit pour faire la fête.

Très très bien ! Je dirais excellent 👌 C’est ce que je recherchais ! Très bon accueil pour commencer, Valentin vous dirigera selon ce que vous voulez faire sur Rio. Maria toujours au taquet pour les p’tits dej. Une vue imprenable du le pain de sucre ! Et plein de belles rencontres à la casa 48. Pour clôturer Ariane la femme de Valentin nous a emmené à une soirée Forro, c’était le top. Si je reviendrais ? Sans aucun doute !

Un accueil super sympa, pleins de bons conseils sur la ville, les meilleures caipirinha (ça compte aussi). une vue absolument imprenable sur la ville ! Situé dans la favela de Santa Teresa qui est très "safe".

C'est l'adresse que je recommanderai systématiquement pour Rio. Tout était parfait pendant ces 5 jours : la pension, la vue de folie, l'accueil, l'emplacement, les rencontres. On avait deux chambres et un salon avec cuisine partagée avec une 3eme chambre cetait tres sympa.

Un accueil parfait par Valentin. La suite a une vue exceptionnelle, il est super sympa de se balader dans la favélas autour de la casa. Le petit déjeuner est complet et toujours devant cette magnifique vue. Quelle merveilleuse découverte !
