Al Mare Villas

Accommodation We stayed in a traditional villa which was spacious and well finished. The upper floor, where you access the villa, had a large bedroom and large bathroom. There is not a great deal of storage (draws) in the bedroom and not enough hangers, so if you can, I would take some of your own. Also, the bedroom lacks a chair, which due to the design of the bed (Lindian style) means that it’s rather awkward to sit on the edge of the bed to put your shoes on etc. The mattress itself is super comfy but low to the platform it sits on, so if you are a regular visitor to the toilet during the night then you may find it difficult getting in and out. My wife and I had to shimmy our way to the steps at the end of the bed to step down. The kitchen was small but adequate and did lack some equipment, (Toaster, tin opener, large glasses) but wasn’t really a problem as we ate out in the evening and had breakfast and occasionally lunch at the Gallouni Bay Café which is part of the complex. Overall cleanliness was good, but as the daily servicing of the room only consisted of emptying the bins, making the bed and changing the towels, it would be handy if the owners could provide at least a cloth to wipe the surfaces down, and a brush, mop & bucket so you can deal with any spillages etc. Ants are a bit of a nuisance, so it is imperative that the work surfaces and floors are cleaned regularly. We ended up using a pack of baby wipes. Pool The pool was a good size and very relaxing. In August it was just the right temperature to cool you off, unlike the sea which was very warm. There is obviously a lot of limescale in the water, which is evident by the crustacean mark around the waterline of the pool and the steps into the pool, which were also a little green with Algae. Gallouni Bay Café Firstly, the young lady who serves you is amazing. Not only does she remember all your preferences, but also just seems to calmly look after everybody without fuss, even when it was busy. The food is renowned and rightly so. In addition to the buffet offering, you can choose anything (and everything) from the menu. Mix & match, whatever you like, all cooked to order. Location The nearest restaurant (and in our opinion the best) is Il Ponte, which is about a 12-minute walk turning right as you exit the car park. It is a bit more of an incline both going and coming back, but doable. If you walk up the hill past Il Ponte, you will reach a small set of shops and a couple of bars / cafes where you can watch football and sport. The Tavernas to the left of the complex down on Kiotari beach are about 20 minutes, but the walk is slightly easier as it’s mostly flat. If you didn’t have a car, I would suspect shopping of heavier items such as water / beer etc would be a challenge, although the supermarket Kourtis do deliver. The villas are in the most beautiful spot overlooking the sea. So peaceful and tranquil. Breakfast was too quality, set in the beautiful little attached open air restaurant. Everything you could want from cereal, juices, breads meats and cooked breakfast. But I just want to mention what makes this place extra special is how kind, polite and attentive the staff were. A credit to themselves and Greece. The villas are just out of this world. Private pool, your own private terrace, upstairs balcony, small but equipped kitchen, tv, comfortable inside and outside chairs. Just perfect. Can’t thank the staff enough for a wonderful honeymoon.

We have returned home to Fethiye after spending five nights at Al Mare Villas, all I can say is the website doesn’t do it justice, the villa, the facilities, the cleanliness, the location, the tranquility, the breakfast and of course the staff, they work tirelessly for everyone to truly enjoy the wonderful experience of this place. Well done to all of you and we’ve already booked to come back so see you in October C&C Chris & Cathy

It's difficult to describe how spot on the Al Mare Villas are for a quiet peaceful break in the sun. The place is perfect with excellent food, perfectly clean and maintained rooms, a private pool serviced every morning and the loveliest private beach just one minutes stroll from the villa. The staff are lovely, friendly without being in any way intrusive and George is George, the kinda guy who's always there and yet never there at the same time. The only downside of Al Mare was having to go home and the way we felt sorry for other people who had to stay in the stuffy, noisy, all inclusive places 3 or 4 minutes away. The ideal idyll for someone who enjoys peace and quiet and never wants to do all the crowded holidaymaker stuff. We'll be back at the start of the season next year when everything's lovely, fresh, quiet and uncrowded again.

This holiday has been perfect. Beautiful quiet villas each with their own small pool looking out on to the sea. George the manager was so helpful and accommodating. Breakfasts were excellent. All other staff helpful as well. Traditional tavernas within an easy 10 minute walk. The IL Porte in Old Kiotari a family run taverna were so friendly with excellent home cooked greek cuisine.

Super hôtel en bord de mer. La plage est à 3 minutes à pied Les chambres sont magnifiques et très spacieuses Nous avions privé une villa traditionnelle avec une piscine privée, juste un petit bémol, la piscine n’est pas chauffée donc à l’automne elle est sacrément froide. Le personnel est au petit soin et d’une grande gentillesse, ils nous ont offert le petit déjeuner pour les 3 jours que nous avons passé sur place. Je ne sais pas ce que cela donne pendant la saison mais en octobre pour ceux qui cherchent le calme c’est le lieu idéal. Nous reviendrons

Jolie complexe avec une vue magnifique sur la mer Egée. Très calme et reposant. Une piscine pour se rafraîchir bien venue. Petit déjeuner extra avec un bon service. Ménage fait tous les jours. Commerces à proximité pour le ravitaillement en courses.

Villa avec sa piscine privee, vue sur mer. Endroit calme et paisible. Un régal pour un séjour ressourçant Petit déjeuner varié et copieux inclus. La plage en contre bas avec parasol et transat. Vaut mieux être véhiculé car se trouve loin de la ville

Maison très bien située au calme avec une magnifique vue mer. Terrasse très agréable pour profiter de l'extérieur, une grande chambre, salle de bain et une grande pièce à vivre ( convertible dans cette pièce). Petite plage privée très calme, l'eau est limpide et chaude ( prévoir chaussures pour les galets). Petit déjeuner succulent, buffet plus large choix sucré et salé à la carte. Idéal pour des vacances en toute quiétude.
