Our first time in crete and The Apollon apartments didn't disappointment,we were in a studio but it had everything you could want from a kitchen,to lovely balcony and spacious room,all spotlessly clean,little shop on site for your essentials and reasonably priced,lovely pool area,,we will return

Good sized one bed apartment in nice grounds with good pool. Good bar area with reasonable daytime menu. Cleaned regularly, comfortable bed. Helpful friendly staff. Short walk to few good local restaurants, and bus stop to Rethymon, not too far from main area/beach in Platanes. All you want from a self catering holiday.

Just returned from another fantastic stay at the Apollon apartments and it is still our favourite place on Crete. The place is spotless and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The apartment was very well equipped and the beds were lovely and comfortable. The hotel is situated in a nice quiet area but only a short walk to plenty of shops, bars and tavernas and only a short bus ride into the old town. Can’t wait till our next visit

We arrived at 1.30am and were very grateful to find our fridge stocked with a few essentials as we were too late for shops to be open (8.50 euros, bargain!) The room was on the ground level and was spotless. Our balcony faced the outside of the hotel and our door opened out to the pool. The family and staff are very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our time there very much. The pool was great for my daughter & neice, at it's deepest it's 1.4 meters and there's a small toddler pool. Plenty of sunbeds and we got food & drinks from the little bar. The on-site shop is handy though we also walked to Lidl nearby (6-7 min walk, we came back a different route to the road, you walk through the car park and turn left, quieter, no cars). It took us 10 mins to walk down to the road lined with shops and restaurants (turn right after the taxi rank). This isn't the very touristy pretty type of resort I've been to on other islands, it felt more like a place people live and work, so you do seen young teenagers hanging about, and it's more urban but the shops and restaurants are the usual holiday type places, a good choice of places to eat (we loved Pagonas and Myli). There's a bus to Rethymno, you buy a 2 euro ticket. I think hotel reception sold them (we just got the bus one way after walking to Rethymno, bought ticker from a kiosk also selling sweets, crisps, drinks etc, by the bus stop). ] We booked a day trip to Knossos & Heraklion with CheckIn Crete (excellent) and were picked up on the road by the restaurants (outside Pavlakis supermarket). The hotel felt like an oasis, gorgeous pool area (beautiful flowers and a pair of swallows that sang!) and quiet. It wasn't too busy due to the time of year I think, so we had the pool to ourselves a lot - there were 4 or 5 other groups/families that we saw most days). Breakfast is available and was very nice though we just had it on day 1 as we went to the shops for bread etc after that. Room had plenty of fridge space, small freezer, 2-ring electric hob and a microwave-everything we needed. Overall we loved Apollon and the family and staff working there were great, made us very welcome and comfortable.

Great holiday, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and bright, Great atmosphere, met some lovely people , would recommend this hotel to anyone. It has a lovely pool area with plenty of sun beds.

Just returned home from a two week stay.First the plus points.The accommodation was very clean and immaculate.The pool area was great with more than enough sunbeds and tables and chairs.The breakfasts were also very good.The reception were extremely helpful when I had need of some emergency dental care.The minus points. The outlook from our room was to say the least very ugly.Overlooking some very scruffy ill kept houses with gardens full of junk.Some rooms had nicer outlooks overlooking countryside or the pool.The self catering kitchen was also non existent.Very small to say the least and lacking in equipment.Very inadequate storage for clothes etc in the apartment. Most clothes had to be left in the suitcases.Every night without exception we were kept awake by feral youths on motorbikes revving engines and screaming round the streets doing wheelies.Dogs howling and barking all night.Kids shouting and screeching till the early hours.Very little to do in the vicinity with only three restaurants close by.

Second time here, fantastic staff, always helpfull. Again found the accommodation to be a good standard. Met some great people staying there be it chatting by the pool, having a drink in the bar or meeting up for a meal at the local Taverna. A special mention to Jack the bar man, a great guy. All in all would highly recommend the Apollo apartments for a very chilled relaxing holiday.

Arrived early hours of the morning a day late because of the flight problems, no one was there to check us in but I won't waffle on about who was to blame for that, got to bed eventualy at about 4am! Happy with our room, big enough, we spend most of our time on balcony anyway or out & about. Beds were comfy. Self catering facilities were enough for us, ( on holiday I refuse to cook! ) maybe a toaster would be handy? Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean, bedding & towels changed about 5 times in 2 weeks. Bins emptied every 2 days. Never saw one mouse, rat or cockroach the whole time we were there like other people have mentioned. The hotel is situated in a residential area so there is some noise mainly in the evening from local families and kids as other people have said. The walk down to town takes 10-15 mins but it is uphill on the way back which can be hard work if its hot but there's plenty of taxis about! I think the hotel could do with more staff because there are times when there is one person running the bar and reception which I've never come across before so they are run off there feet especially when having to do food too. Would I stay there again? 🤔 I definitely would if I wanted a cheap week away in the sun, but I've never stayed anywhere twice in the same place as I like seeing new places and visiting new areas.

Lovely family run hotel, gorgeous pool. Staff happy to help and greeted you every day. Room basic but large enough for 2. Probably would’ve liked our room cleaned more than twice but no real problem. Only negatives where the noise around the hotel, dogs barking etc but not the hotels fault. Loved our holiday.

Great value for money and staff very friendly and accommodating. Pool was good and plenty if sun beds available. About a 6km walk into central Reythmnon but worth the walk. There is a village nearby which has good restaurants. It is only a 10 minute walk from the beach. The pool bar is good value and there is a small shop on site although Lidl is just down the hill. Charged 6euros a day or air conditioning and don’t forget the city tax. The staff can arrange tours which are good value

Lovely self catering holiday. Family run hotel. Staff was helpful and took care of our needs including letting us stay in our room late to use showers for a late flight. Snack bar was available during the day for light meals. Rooms were basic but perfect for us as we only use them to sleep and change and enjoy being out and about. Pool was beautiful with plenty of chairs even on the busy days. Not overcrowded with lie lows and many shared what was there! Walk to town was 10 minutes but a bit of a climb back up in the heat. It is about a 10 minute taxi ride to Rethmynon itself, but there are some shops and restaurants in the village where the hotel is.perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

Lovely apartment hotel. Simple rooms etc but very very clean. Staff were so lovely but I have to give a mention to George the young poolside bar guy. He was so lovely with the guests and gave all of the kids a lot of his time. Our grandson really enjoyed his little chats with him and he’s only 8. Brilliantly positioned for bars and shops and a short stroll to the beach. Couldn’t really fault it at all. Great holiday and would definitely return. 😊

Just perfect! We had the best holiday ever staying here. A wonderful venue that was perfect for a family, small, safe and friendly with a clean pool and good size rooms. Best of all we’re the staff who were just lovely, always friendly and really helpful.

We were impressed with hotel itself. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. The pool area was pretty and plenty of sunbeds. The pool bar was well stocked and served snacks also. The two downsides were the location of the hotel itself. It was a fair walk to the beach and shops and restaurants so not convenient for older guests. Also on our last day our flight was a late night one but we couldn't keep our rooms on after 12.00 midday so a whole day wasted just sitting around waiting for our coach transfer. In my opinion we paid for 7 days but really only had 6. Would we go there again? No
