This is a small piece of land with lots of rooms/apartments tucked in. The pictures don't quite represent the tight quarters (pictures on *********** are even more absurd) . You might be happy if you don't mind being in a crowded space. Cheap furnishing, nasty mohair run, we asked for blankets but there were none. We got extra sheets instead. We had booked a room for 4 so we would have a good amount of space for the two of us, but got a full and a single bed instead. It was so bad that we left for our home in San Jose instead of staying the night. Completely misrepresented in the pictures.

The Hosts/owners were excellent, so communicative and did my laundry. Rooms were clean and AC was great. Very good value for the price. Not walkable so suggest a car. But about 10 min to marina and 18 min to Manuel Antonio beach. Nice place to stay.

Unfortunately I just came across this so it's not as timely - I just want anyone thinking about staying here to know that you will NEVER meet a nicer couple. The accomodations are clean and comfortable and Jorge even went out of his way to arrange a paddle trip for me as well as additional accomodations when my time was up and I had to check out. They are world travelers as well and it was so fun to see that they had actually been to my home town as well . When I come back I will definitely make a point of coming back here to stay. I only wish that they will come back to Aspen so I can give them the royal treatment as they gave me . BEST - Craig

Guest house pura vida was an amazing experience for our multi generational family trip. We stayed 3 nights and were treated so wonderfully by Jorge & everyone. The communal facilities were inviting and it was the cleanest communal kitchen I’ve ever seen. I saw a pair of scarlet macaws flying overhead while washing dishes - wonderful! We had one of the treehouse style rooms for us and the kids, and the grandparents were in a more traditional room. Follow directions carefully to find the guest house the first time , but after that we were so pleased with the quiet peaceful neighborhood.

We stayed one night at this guesthouse on our way to the Osa Peninsula. We really needed a plan to get there, as it is lost in a residential area. The common areas, a large kitchen and living room, are really nice. A perfect place to meet other travellers. The room was confortable. It was noisy however. We were on the ground floor and the people in the upstairs bedroom arrived late at night and didn't care for the fellow travellers sleeping in other rooms. The house next to the guesthouse was also very noisy, but it stopped early. We also heard roosters a good part of the night, but that's part of the charm I guess!

My friend and I spent 1 month in Costa Rica, and staying at this guest house was one of the highlights of our trip. We stayed at Guest house Pura Vida for 6 nights and the couple were more than accommodating. The rooms were clean and the beds comfy. We had a AC and a fan if preferred. Upon arrival Jorge welcomed us and gave us a tour of the property as well as making us a complimentary pineapple smoothie. During our stay, both Jorge and his partner Pamela treated us with generosity and kindness; helping us find the best places to eat and explore. They also often offered us lifts into town which we were extremely grateful for. If we are lucky enough to return to Costa Rica, guest house Pura Vida is where we will stay! Thank you for a lovely time :)

Very helpful, owner created book of tips. Although out of town walking not really a problem. But owner often gives a lift. Look out for the local crocodile but don't worry unless you are a chicken! We chose larger room which was good for access to kitchen which had everything you need including fridge microwave. Coffee served mornings.

My wife & I were in Costa Rica for a week and stayed at this wonderful guest house for 4 days. We absolutely loved everything about it. The views are awesome as well and lots of beautiful landscaping. We saw a toucan, monkey and a sloth near the property and it was amazing. Once you stay at Pura Vida you will want to go back. We already booked another 4 days this coming fall.

Loved staying at this guesthouse for 3 nights. It is a special place. Jorge and Pamela were kind, caring, and make sure you have everything you need. My bedroom was clean, comfortable, and spacious. I didn’t reserve a room with AC and was deciding whether it would be needed but at night, the fan worked out. Super nice fellow travelers of mixed ages. Great common areas. I loved the seafood place just up the road. Definitely hope to stay here again…maybe in a tiny house!
