The room is great and comfy! There is a free mini bar providing with chips and drinks. It’s highly recommended for a stay in Porto.

It's a lovely place for 2 nights stay. The hotel is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The staff texted me before my arrival to provide passcode for self check in. Free mini bar with mineral water, chips, cookies, fruit juices was great! Just to note that located slightly off the main tourist attractions, around 20min walk away. Me and husband don't mind walking a bit so we recommend this place!

Very high quality Air B&B like Hotel. 10/15 minutes walk to the riverside/centre. The communication upon arrival and any questions were quickly answered over Whatsapp. Free mini bar & coffee too. Stay here to explore Porto!

Our room had a slight smell to it but nothing an open window couldn’t fix. Being on the floor at the entry to the hotel it was quite loud with the comings and goings of other guests. I would advise to request a room upstairs. The distance into Porto city centre was a bit of a trek but ok if you don’t mind walking up hill and stairs. Great to explore though. The staff were very accommodating and especially quick with response to any queries we raised.

As you understand we can unfortunately not always control the behaviour of other guests even if we try to reinforce at check-in that it is important to be mindful of the comfort of the other guests. In relation to the smell in the room we regret that you did not mention this during your stay or when we ask you if you were enjoyinh your stay we could have easily fixed it. In terms of our location we are located in the city centre of Porto within walking distance of main landmarks. If you are referring to the city centre being Ribeira, Ribeira is a part of the city centre which is 10 minute walk from us.We are happy to read that you enjoyed your experience and cannot wait to welcome you back. We booked Suite 5 and Suite 7. The rooms are large and clean. Everyone is very satisfied. You need to contact the merchant for the access password, which will be sent to your mailbox roughly one day before check-in. Snacks and large bottles of water are also provided in the room (only on the first day). There is a self-service coffee machine downstairs. I didn't take photos of the room, but the photos are the same as the actual ones. Here are some photos of Porto. It rained those two days, and the weather was not good, so we didn't go to the port. Facilities: There is no elevator. Suite 7 is on the top floor, so it's a bit tiring to move boxes. Service: There is a butler in the building, and you can call or email him. Sanitation: Very clean, cleaned every day. Environment: The house is on the street, so you can close the windows if you are worried about noise.

If you have not received check-in information from the hotel before checking in, remember to check it proactively! This time the hotel entered the wrong phone number for me and couldn't contact me. They even plausibly blamed me. In the end, I had to find their phone number at the door and made several calls. It took almost half an hour before I could enter the room. The landlord even called me and repeatedly emphasized that it was my fault, but he didn't realize that he typed the wrong number, which was very rude! We live on the 1st floor, and we have to go up and down two stairs. There is no elevator to go to other floors, so it is inconvenient to carry suitcases. The main road is right outside the window, you can see passers-by when you open the curtains, and you can hear the sound of cars all night long. In addition, the password for the room is the same as the password for the door, which makes people have security concerns. Porto is a nice place and we would come back but would not choose this hotel again.

We are humans and all humans can make mistakes.There are a few things however that we would like to clarify as they are falsely stated in your review:-When you say that you waited 30 minutes to enter the room its simply false. You arrived, you couldn't enter as you had not received your code. The manager was in the building and he helped you in to your room in a matter of minutes. Kindly to not decorate your review to make it look worst than it was. As mentioned the fact we made a mistake in your number is unfortunate but mistakes can happen to anyone.-The owner (me) called you to find out what had happened, you mentioned that you did not get the code and I asked you to check your whatsapp to make sure. I never blamed you of everything I asked you if you could just double check and confirm. I then realised it has been indeed our mistake. I apologise if you misunderstood my call. As soon as I realised my mistake I called you and texted you to apologise for that.-We would like to stress that our listing does not mention the existence of an elevator. Booking platforms do not allow us to write whatever we want. They have check boxes with different features. We can only not click on elevator but there is no box that says no elevator. The pictures we have on the listing are however an exact and clear representation of the premises.Our property is a listed building that was renovated according to the conservation rules of rehabilitation. We had to keep some of the original features on the property which give it its charm and respect the city’s heritage.-Kindly read the description of the room you booked “Room 1”.It is clearly written on the booking platforms and on our website. “This room is the closest room to the street and therefore the noisiest it is also for that reason the cheapest priced room in the property.”Every room is our property is unique and the room you book and pay is the room you get.Most clients who stay in that room are not sensitive to noise so there is no problem. Some guests are sensitive to noise and that is why the information is available for them to make an informed decision at the time of the booking. We also have earbuds in the bathroom for guest who are sensitive to noise.-What you wrote about the code is also very misleading. Each guest gets a code that is unique for them. That code works for both main door and their room but is a code that only the guest has individually. Therefore there is no security concern as we can see exactly who access and when and we have cameras everywhere.We are sorry your experience did not go as expected and that it started on the wrong foot by a human mistake. We are also sorry that your review is inacurate and has the intention to dammage our reputation rather than actually inform guests.Best regards

The room is small, self-service check-in, no service staff at the front desk, no new towels for two days, and no one to change them. The location is OK, not far from Porto Park, but generally average

It is described on the listing that we are a self-check-in property which has no physical reception.We contacted you ahead of arrival and gave you check in instructions and a list of recommendations for Porto. We mentioned that if you needed anything you could contact us.We are reachable on the phone at anytime and we will provide you the same help as if we were there physically. Also we do have staff at the property between 9h00 and 14h00.We do not change towels every day unless the guest requests. This is because of environmental reasons. Had you communicated that you wished for new towels we could of arrange that for you.We hope we will be able to welcome you again and next time with a better communication make sure you give us a 5/5 rating.Thank you

Very good self-check-in hotel, right next to the Suarez dos Reis National Museum. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the items in the minibar are free, including a 1.25L bottle of purified water, a 1.25L bottle of soda, biscuits and chips, etc.

There is no front desk. If you arrive early, you can only put your luggage in the aisle. There is no public toilet. The room seems to be an illegal attic. Whenever a car passes by downstairs, the whole building will shake. The sound insulation is poor. The block is next to the hospital, and ambulances whizz by. Let's talk about the service. The backstage did not send the door password and room password to the booking email in advance, which made communication very inconvenient. There is no elevator! There is no elevator! The stairs are very steep! You have to carry your large luggage upstairs by yourself! Oh my God! There is no check-out reminder. The luggage cannot be left in the check-in aisle for a longer period of time. You must leave everything behind at the appointed time. The only thing is that the service staff occasionally appeared to help carry the luggage to the taxi. This is simply a nightmare for the Portugal trip!

You also do not provide an email when the email is asked. When you travel to a foreign country and you barely speak English, for your own safety we recommend in the future to have a phone that works and to provide all required information at the time of the reservation.Our listing clearly mentions that we are a self-check-in property with no reception. Our listing does not mention that we have an elevator. Our listing does not mention that we have a public toilet. Therefore all of these expectations of yours were based on assumptions rather than of what we communicate we have as facilities.We can only correspond to expectations based on what we communciate through our listing description and pictures. If you book without reading and looking at pictures you can then not penalise the properties with these type of terrible and inacurate reviews for you not being aware of what you booked and then being disapointed.When you say that the room seems to be an illegal attic it is simply ridiculous. The room you stayed at was a 32sam suite with a five start hotel bed, TV, couch, designer furniture which was exactly like in the pictures. In Portugal you cannot operate tourism properties without a strong legislation and complaince. That comment is false and proof of just a bad itentions from your side. You create a narrative to exagerate facts and ridicule them just to penalise us instead of being factual.Every time you called us we replied immediately and tried to help you. The fact that you do not speak English or Portuguese makes it more difficult. You cannot expect when you are a tourist in a foreign country for locals to speak your language. The property is located in the city centre of a city of 1 million people, not in a remote farm place so you cannot expect not to have any noise in the street. Police and ambulance sirens are designed to be heard anywhere. So we cannot prevent that noise even with the best isolation.When you start your trip with these challenges ahead it makes it impossible for any property to give you a good experience because your expectations are totally disconnected from the reality of what you book.Finlly you contacted Trip.com mentioning that we had agreed to reimburse you your stay. This shows your dishonnesty as we never agreed on anything of the sort and you claimed that we had that written agreement. We never even had a written communication. Of course your lie was detected but this shows how dishonnest you were through the entire process.We have blacklisted you from staying in our property again. We do not want dishonnest and rude guests like you.

This is not actually a hotel but an apartment. There is no manual service. The location is OK, but far from the subway station!

We are a guesthouse with rooms equivalent to an upscale hotel but with limited services. There is no reception, it is self check-in and if you need anything you can contact us at anytime on the phone and we will assisit you with anything you need just like in a hotel. This is described on our listing and website. It would be recommended for you to read more carefully the descriptions given by the properties you book to avoid misunderstanding. As you can understand we can only correspond to the expectations which are based on the product we describe and show on pictures. If your expectations are based on an inacurate and misinformed idea or our product we can do everything well and yet you will be dissatisfied and penalise us with a bad review which we objectively do not deserve,There is a metro station within walking distance of our property which is under renovation.We will make sure that your next experience with us deserves a 5/5 review

Superior experience stay in porto. Lucky to be here and will definitely be back again. Great service team, complete check-in procedures and good and fast communication. The room is very beautiful and the attentive service ~ the location is also very convenient. I am very lucky and happy that I chose this hotel! :)
