Al Vecchio Convento

We stayed at Al Vecchio Convento to celebrate my mothers birthday and had an amazing time. Ulla, Marisa and the whole team were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The house is very special, with old furniture and a lovely terrase to enjoy an aperitivo at sunset. The food at the restaurant was amazing, made by first class chefs. We also had a cooking class with Nicola, which was the highlight of our trip. I cannot recommend the place enough!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming and authentic hotel: the hostess, family and staff do everything in their power to make the guests' stay as pleasant as possible. We appreciated the restaurant that much we dined there each evening, excellent cuisine with regional products! The location is also an excellent base for a visit to Ravenna or a hike to the Cascate dell' Acquachetta. Highly recommendable on all levels!

We spent a blissful long weekend at Hotel Al Vecchio Convento, Portico di Romagna in mid March. We received a fabulous welcome from Ulla on arrival and were made to feel so at home throughout our stay. Marisa, (our host), Matteo (Marisa’s son and chef extraordinaire) and Ulla (Matteo’s wife) couldn’t do enough to make our stay extra special and memorable. The hotel itself is lovely - our rooms were charming and traditionally furnished. The restaurant was delightful and the tables were well spaced out, resulting in a relaxed and cordial atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious - Matteo prides himself on using local ingredients and creates fabulous food which is a joy to eat and a real regional culinary experience. Our trip included a truffle hunting trip with Matteo and his excitable and lovely dog, Lydia. I’ve always wanted to go truffle hunting, so this was a real treat and Lydia didn’t disappoint with her haul of truffles ... and Matteo used them in many of his delicious dishes. We also had a pasta masterclass in the kitchen with Matteo - where the 4 of us had a go at making 2 different types of fresh pasta. We then enjoyed the fruits of our labour for lunch! We were so lucky with the weather during our trip and had a fascinating tour of Portico di Romagna with Ulla and a couple of lovely walks in the beautiful countryside surrounding the village. Our final activity was an enjoyable wine (and food) tasting by a local winemaker, which the hotel arranged. All in all, a fabulous and fun-packed trip to a wonderful family-run hotel in a beautiful area of Italy. We would thoroughly recommend visiting Hotel Al Vecchio Convento and enjoying the hospitality of the the Cameli family.

Al vecchio convento si torna al passato ,tempi in cui il silenzio la calma la pace erano la quotidianità…oggi che viviamo nel caos tuffarsi in una tranquillità così naturale ,accolti con cortesia e gentilezza in questo convento che offre si camere che riportano indietro nel tempo ma è proprio questa la sua particolarità ..camere pulite ,silenziose,materasso comodo,ampio bagno …intorno al vecchio convento la natura ti coccola e Portico di Romagna mi ha colpito in tutta la sua bellezza e antica storia …grazie dell’ospitalità …

Un ferragosto con i fiocchi. Questo ristorante è il top, la qualità del cibo, il servizio, il locale. La cordialità e cortesia di tutto il personale. È tutto al massimo. Una vera coccola. Anche la carta dei vini è all’altezza di tutto il resto. Non vedo l’ora di tornare.

Nettes altes Dorf am kleinen Bach in den grünen Hügeln. Familien betriebene Pension, schlicht aber sehr schön. Freundliche unaufgeregte Betreiber. Romantische Terrasse und großartiges Abendessen mit exzellenter Weinberatung. Das beste Frühstück aller italienischer Hotels in denen ich je war.

Ho pernottato in questo piccolo hotel dove il tempo pare essersi fermato. Si respira il tempo di un ex convento. La struttura e gli arredi lo confermano. Stanze pulite e ampie, silenziose. Lo spazio all’esterno dove si consuma la colazione e la cena, è davvero delizioso. Un angolo di pace assoluta, contornato di fiori e piante. Il ristorante offre piatti locali con qualche estro. Tra i migliori funghi porcini fritti! Ottimo il sorbetto al limone e basilico. La colazione molto varia e di tutto rispetto. Buona base per le escursioni al parco nazionale foreste casentinesi. Personale molto cortese.

90€ euro per una stanza polverosa e con asciugamani di bassa fattura mi sembrano troppi il letto appiccicato al muro dove uno dei due doveva scavalcare per andare in bagno e ci sarebbe altro… la colazione ottima e abbondante. Spero che siano più accusati in futuro per proporre certi prezzi

Location gradevole tenuta malissimo troppo alto il prezzo per ciò che offre…Calcaree sui sanitari, asciugamani di bassa fattura, polvere ovunque…Per il prezzo che propone troppo caro un 2 stelle offre di più ..Lo sconsiglio vivamente unica nota positiva la colazione
