Hotel la Locanda Del Postino

Went with my girlfriend in August 2023, and had the most magical time. We have traveled throughout much of Italy, Greece, and France but La Locanda was different. It holds such a special place in our heart and we hope to be back soon. Everyone who works there will treat you like family and help with all your needs. We stayed on a few places throughout the island but this was by far our favorite. Would highly recommend taking the cooking class as well!

This was one of the most stunning and special places. The service provided was impeccable from the moment we arrived to the minute we left and beyond. The property is located away from the main "populated" parts of the island which we found great. The tranquillity of returning to your hotel to be greeted with friendly familiar faces and knowing you need nothing else was perfectly relaxing. Definitely not a nightlife spot so just go here to relax and unwind. Nothing better.

Great hotel with a beautiful view of the sunset and an amazing garden. Very kind and friendly staff, room was comfortable and clean. The food at the restaurant was incredible, the mille feuille is a must try. Perfect place for a getaway.

We arrived in time for a glorious red sunset, accompanied by two glasses of the local Salina wine, followed by a delicious 3 course dinner. Beautifully served, friendly service with 5-star cooking of the fresh fish and deserts, it was worth every penny of the charge. We caught the 9:10pm bus back to Malfa where we were staying. Try the Locanda del Postino!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing view, the staff was so nice and friendly, the food was so good and the desserts were amazing. The rooms were clean and well taken care of, I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a great time and eat amazing food I look forward to coming back here soon:)

Wonderful experience. Stunning view from each corner of the hotel. Really high quality restaurant with first quality ingredients and great service. The fish is always fresh and the wine choice is always various. The team takes care of you just like your mum would. Enjoyed my time there, highly recommended for both overnight stay or just the restaurant. Never seen a sunset like that.

We stayed 6 nights at Lo laconda Postino on a friend’s recommendation. Of of three weeks in Sicily this was our highlight. It’s a small family run hotel and the family are wonderful. Francesco the son speaks perfect English and was a wealth of local knowledge and humor. My husband had a great day out diving with Francesco. The hotel is decorated in a classic Aeolian style. Very simple but all you need. All rooms have a view of the sea either from s window or a hammock. Dinning outside after aperitif in the garden, watching the sun go down whilst being served delicious food by hilarious staff made this trip truly unforgettable. Francesco and family we will be back !

The hotel La Locanda del Postino is just divine. We were recommended by some friends, and were only able to sadly spend 24 hours there, our only wish was to stay longer. The hotel is located in the nicest Italian little town Pollaro. It is charming, and the staff will go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. We met the family, Mauro his wife, and his son Francesco, which are just charming and the definition of homey. I would definitely recommend if you want delicious food, a cosy stay and an amazing panoramic view which make you feel like you are in the ideal spot!

The La Locanda del Postino hotel is a true gem in Pollara, a remote and extremely beautiful part of Salina and Sicily. Our 4 night stay was so relaxing. It’s a very quiet place except the constant sound of birds chirping at each other and, in the evening, the happy chatting of people congregating in the little garden to enjoy a cocktail and the perfect sunset (some of the best we’ve ever seen, and Pollara is the only spot on the island you can see it). The restaurant is very nice, the dishes and ingredients are all local and presented beautifully. We ate here twice during our stay, and enjoyed stuffed anchovies, swordfish, red tuna, and scorpion fish; plus tiramisu and pistachio pannacota, among other dishes and beautiful wine. Make sure you also try Francesco’s special Aperol Spritz (with a Malvasia twist) and homemade limoncello. In the evenings, we made a new habit of enjoying some Malvasia wine on our balcony and playing cards while watching the stars. Our room was very comfortable and airy, with a little tv and fridge, and a window with a lovely sea view. In the mornings, we had traditional Sicilian breakfasts: homemade cakes, biscuits, croissants, fruit, and good coffee. Overall, Francesco and his family have created a wonderful little spot in the world where you can come to relax, enjoy nature and good food. Perfect for any creatives looking for inspiration. They really care about their island and their guests and this makes for a memorable stay, or dinner - whichever you treat yourself to!
