Sol Barbacan

We are just back from a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. I cannot recommend this place enough! It was my birthday whilst we were there and on arrival we were upgraded to one of the two bedroom bungalows! These are absolutely amazing, a real home from home with everything you need. We had our own terrace with a table and chairs and sun loungers so you could eat al fresco on the warm evenings or have breakfast outside in the mornings. The cherry on top is the huge private roof terrace, you could sunbathe all day with no distractions, it’s completely private and a real gamechanger, we even had a small sea view 👌😍 On my birthday, my husband asked if they could get some flowers and a cake and they organised it all, the flowers were beautiful and the carrot cake was absolutely delicious, they also brought me a bottle of fizz and snacks and a card with compliments from the hotel, a lovely touch 🥰 The hotel is spotlessly clean and the grounds are really well kept, the staff are fabulous and really friendly. The hotel is really well situated, everything is close by including restaurants, supermarkets, doctors, dentists, you don’t have to walk far at all. We were really sad to leave but we will return and will definitely be staying here again 👌🥰

Family of 5 ranging from 14 to 80 had 5 days here for my 50th birthday. We stayed in a pool side 2 bed bungalow which was fine for our needs. Very clean and fully equipped. Two bedrooms two bathrooms, drying room, and double sofa bed. One thing would be there was only one mirror apart from the bathroom ones meaning we all used the one mirror in the twin bedroom. I think a second mirror in the double bedroom would be very useful or even one in the living area space. We slept well . There was an extractor type of fan in the kitchen which rattled all night as it was so windy. I think maybe that could be looked at as when you are sleeping on the sofa bed it’s quite loud but only when windy which it was for the 5 days. Maybe a cap would be useful to pop on on windy occasions. We were half board which was great. Breakfast was the usual hot items and pastries and cereals with hot drinks and juices. The evening meal was buffet and there was always something to choose from. My daughter who sometimes struggles also found food every evening. Fino in the evening restaurant was amazing and so much fun. He attended us very well and even brought out my surprise birthday cake to us and the boxed it up for us to take back to the room. He also was in the bar in the evening and was wonderful. There was a full programme of day time fun which we joined in with including aqua gym, quizzes, mini golf and stretching. My daughter, Isabella was made very welcome from Cynthia during the day and really made her stay fun. Roberto was also lovely and made us promise to do aqua gym so all 5 of us got in the pool and had fun with a great choice of Michael Jackson music. He always had a smile and again made Isabella feel part of everything and also used to say Hi to us in the evening and was always smiling. He gave my mum her nickname of Nonna which I think will stay with us. They had entertainment every evening which was fun and provided gas heaters and blankets to make us more comfortable outside in the evening. We had a great five day trip at the Sol Barbican. Please pass on how we enjoyed the company of Cynthia , Roberto and Fino.

We stayed in April 2024 for ten days as a family of five. It was a package holiday with Jet2. The staff were all friendly and worked really hard. The hotel was clean and tidy. There was two large pools areas with a life guard in each. There was no sunbed wars. The aircon in the rooms was ice cold. The food at breakfast was fairly basic but a decent variety. The beach was a 20 minute walk. If you were elderly or had young children it would be an issue. The hotel is set on a busy roundabout, so there is traffic noise at all times. The entertain staff were lively and friendly. The drinks and snacks were fairly expensive. Overall a good stay in a reasonable location. We would return.

Beautiful bungalows set in lovely well kept grounds . 2 main pools both plenty of sunbeds and lots to see and do . Small adults pool but nice and quiet if you want time away , and a baby pool , with sunbeds near by and slightly away from the main pool which although not having a baby I thought was a good idea as parents could relax a little more . The bungalow has a rooftop terrace which was just gorgeous . The best part for us was the entertainment team . Travelling with a 14 and 9 year old they really made the kids feel like they could get involved and were so nice , but also while not forcing you to join in if you don’t want to . Those and the grounds it’s set in I think make the hotel . We didn’t eat in the hotel but had a couple of really nice meals out , although the area isn’t for us and I probably won’t return to the area itself , it’s only because outside the hotel ( unless you went the yumbo centre ) which looked a bit seedy there wasn’t loads close by in forms of entertainment. But we might just not of found it ! Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and even more so for families .

Myself and my friends visit the Sol Barbacan every November. We wouldnt stay anywhere else! The location is great, the staff are lovely and the self contrained bungalows feel like home away from home. There are bars, resturants right on the door step and we have already booked up to visit again later this year!

We stayed here for a week self catering and really couldn’t fault the hotel at all check in was smooth and easy our room was clean a little tired in places but nothing a little touch up with a little bit of paint couldn’t solve the hotel is next to a busy road but this didn’t bother us I can’t comment about the food as we did not use the the restaurant so my 5 star review is based on reception staff super friendly the cleaner was lovely and our room was also spotless along with the rest of the hotel and grounds if I was to return I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel

Nice spacious room. Beautiful gardens and grounds. Nice equipped gym. A great entertainment team. Lots of room and loungers around the multiple pool areas. The breakfast was average with a limited choice of cereals. Not too far to walk to the bars and restaurants

We are halfway through our stay at this hotel and first impressions were what a wonderful hotel this was, very clean and well kept areas, polite and friendly staff . Unfortunately what spoilt it for us was when the evening entertainment starts. The entertainment is unfortunately outside and directly below the 1st-5th floor of the rooms , especially room 477, 478, 479 and the ones above and below these. We. Have found we have had to shut all the windows and doors just to take the edge off how loud it is. If you want an early night after a day out exploring forget it! These rooms also face the main road but the noise from the entertainment. Is far worse.

Great hotel, so clean all the staff are friendly and accommodating, would highly recommended this hotel,the beds are the best I have ever had in an hotel,we stayed bed and breakfast and I think the service and food on offer would suit all tastes,thankyou
