The Rif - Boutique Hotel

We stayed in The Rif Hotel October 2023 and fell in love with the place. The fact is was so close to the sight seeing areas and more so a few minutes from Pisa airport. Having loved the time previously, we had we booked again for October 2024. We spend a week or so in Florence and the Rif hotel was so handy to stay the night before our flight the next day We have just arrived from Florence and checked in to The Rif hotel. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We were told our room was upstairs and having been here before we knew that it was going to be like our last room or of similar quality. After going up and then through a door, then another 21 stairs to get into our room, we are absolutely shocked as the room is basically an attic. The hotel states on its website it has 15 boutique rooms and this is by far anything boutique! Under no circumstances would we have ever booked this. Like the last time, we had booked a double room, we thought it would have been like the last time. We mentioned this to the front desk who advised they were fully booked. That would be acceptable however to be put in a room such as this is a disgrace. We were told we had booked an ‘economy’ room but there is no reference or images to show what their version of an economy room looks like on their website. There is no phone to contact reception, and the only windows in the attic are unable to be opened due to their height. Two chairs are in the entrance way but not a table to put a cup or glass on. These things might seem trivial, bur you would expect a business offering luxury, would pay more attention to detail.

Delightful boutique hotel super close to the historical centre. Easy to explore on foot. Gorgeous rooms, lovely staff, would highly recommend if staying in Pisa. It is rated 3 stars but this might just be because it has no restaurant or lift. It feels more like a 4 or 4 star. There are lots of restaurants nearby which the hotel recommends (and it didn’t disappoint!).

The perfect spot for a short break / overnight stay in Pisa. Small very comfortable boutique hotel within two minutes walk of the main sites but in a quiet avenue away from the hordes of tourists. If you want a warm friendly small quiet hotel with a magnificent garden - this is for you. If you want 5* luxury with a spa and swimming pool, this is not for you. Comfortable room with expresso machine and full of nice touches with great shower (pressure/waterfall/hand) Very nice cold buffet breakfast (try the granary. Croissants) Highly recommend Also 1 minute walk from Pisa Rossare station ( 25 minutes from the Central Station) - don’t get confused

Wonderful hotel, great location 500mtrs from Pisa Tower, parking on site €20 for as long as you like, secure grounds, room very clean and well equipped, food excellent, service brilliant, really peaceful place even though in the centre of town, 10 minutes from airport, great value for money we will definitely recommend to our friends.

Beautiful, stately and relaxing hotel. We stayed one night and arrived late, tired and hungry at 10pm after a stressful journey from the airport. The staff were totally charming, welcoming and much to our surprise and delight laid on supper for us despite the lateness. We were dreading the prospect of having to go out and trawel Pisa to find a restaurant. We ate a delicious meal of pasta washed down with an excellent wine on the terrace overlooking the beautiful garden - a real oasis to calm the nerves. My room was a deluxe triple. It was clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was well appointed with good size, powerful shower. Towels were soft and plump. Dressing gowns supplied too. Only downside was the refuse collectors arriving at 7.30am in the morning (on a Saturday) to take away the rubbish. Not the hotels fault of course but unfortunate! Breakfast was in the garden with a generous array of options. No cooked option as far as we could see, but we weren't worried about that. Special mention to the lovely lady who looked after us when we arrived on the Friday night and Saturday at breakfast. She was kind, considerate, professional and patient with our request to be taught Italian! Thank you The Rif!

Very charming small hotel in Pisa, so close to the Leaning Tower that you can see it from outside the gate - it is literally just a few minutes walk away. We only stayed a night (in room 11) but it was quiet, clean, characterful, central and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. It's also very near to the smaller Pisa S.Rossore station which is on the same road pretty much, which we used to head off to the Cinque Terre. Would deffo recommend.
