It is the second time we are back to this hotel since last year. We brought our 2 year old daughter here last year and now we are back again this time with a newborn. The hotel has undergone some refurbishment with a new bar beside the pool. We also discovered the new kids playpen at level 1 which the kids enjoyed. However there were some not so enjoyable parts of this trip. Such as the mosquitoes and also the lift which was out of order. It was not easy to carry the bags and stroller up and down the stairs. I trust the hotel management will look into this matter asap. Overall kids enjoyed it.

So let’s start off this is my third time at Avista Kata . Our last stay was 8 years ago . The facility is getting old , things like walls , tiles , showering head just doesn’t give a good vibe . There’s ants so make sure you don’t have anything sweet laying around . There is no usb charging in the room so it seems like they don’t update the hotel at all . The pool is decent compared to other kata hotels . The staff is decent . The food is ok nothing special . Would not stay at the hotel again.

The hotel is clean and the hospitality is excellent. The staff Tina recommended good places for us to visit and eat. Location wise will require to climb on top or walk down the steep road, however they have shuttle service every half an hour to kata beach and they provide beach towel as well. They have kids club and pool but the pool is 1.2 depth hence will require floats for younger children. There is no halal section or separation for halal in the hotel breakfast, food choice are limited. And the surrounding area require to walk abit of distance to find a halal friendly restaurant Kata beach and the area is good and family friendly, alot shops to walk around.

A nice hotel in good location which isn’t far from kata beach but is at the top of a steep hill. Staff are super friendly and buffet is really good, but the negative is that sometimes service can be a little slow and if you have a pool view pool, the pool bar plays loud music from around 10am or so which honestly isn’t great when you want to relax or have a sleep in.

Staffs are very nice. I enjoyed the swimming pool, spa, bar. All great just the location is on the very shaky slope.

Decent hotel with great pools and nice breakfast buffet. Close to beach although a bit of a climb back to hotel if not using the shuttle.

We were here on a family trip for three nights and chose this hotel as it is advertised as kids friendly. The brand not only did not meet the minimum standards, the service and staff was very bad. 1. We were checking in late at 7 pm and when I sent the email about the same, the guy responded with entire information about check out 2. Rooms were comfortable but few basic amenities were missing or not functioning 3. There is 1 small lift for 5 storeys with capacity of 5 people! And lift was not working for 4-5 hours and had to carry my baby all the way up to 5th floor multiple times. 4. Kids play area is very average and when we requested for play station remotes the staff kept on using delaying tactics instead of giving a straight answer 5. Worst was the breakfast buffet and food experience. Food and desserts is very average. There is hardly anything for vegetarians and usually at all hotels they make something where vegetarian food isn’t available. At Novotel, we weren’t given this option and when requested staff rudely said no, except on one occasion. 6. Water play area is good 7. Shuttle service to kata beach is available but no information is provided before hand.

Very good hotel. Located on the top of the mountain, very hard to climb to the hotel. It provides bus, but you have to wait for it as it runs every 30 minutes. Startbucks is nearby, 10 minutes walk.

The breakfast could have been better. The restaurants outside offer better food than what they have there.

The hotel is located on top of super steep hill. That’s a great minus. We ended up paying 200baht every time to go on top of the hill when going back! There is shuttle but every half and hr.  The breakfast is below average! Not much for Muslims travellers. Taste wise fall flat!  They provided beach towel but no carriers like most hotels do. Not beach front.

Great hotel away from the hustle but still close enough to everything. It’s definitely a hotel I’d go back to and with the family. I’d like to mention hotel management especially Massimo. He goes out of his way to meet and greet his patrons. Daily free shuttle to beach , swim up bar , large rooms

Do not stay here! Super high and dangerous hill to go to the main road you'll end up paying 200bht to return to your hotel. Rooms are super moist. Water all over the floor because of the moisture. Very outdated rooms. Phone didn't work. Maid opened the door without knocking at 9am. Worst hotel I've stayed in for a while. Around the 2-3 star max old hotel level. 4-5 star is a joke. Staff were nice though.

Excellent service from both check in staff (didn't get her name but I think it was ploy) who escorted us all the way to our room and the check out staff (Grace) who kindly also extended my check out time by half hour. I got the ocean view room which was on the top floor, and the view was breathtaking. Good to enjoy the ocean without heading down to the beach. Hotel is also very near the main kata area with lots of good food and massages nearby. Downside is that the hotel is on a very steel hill but it's not too far of a walk, just treat it as an after meal workout, and for the view, it's totally worth it!

It is a suitable hotel for a family trip. It is located near beach, however it is so uphill. It requires a lot of effort to walk. Hotel has free shuttle van to beach every hour. Breakfast has various options. There were activities for kids and play room.
