Hacienda Leito

Great place, lots of history and very friendly staff. We stayed there Dec. 2023 for Chris**as Eve. The owner made sure everything was perfect. Dinner by the natural fireplace was spectacular. I highly recommend this place for a single family, as well as large group gatherings/retreats.

We really enjoyed walking around the grounds and thev view of the mountains. There was a fireplace in our room with a lit fire and hot water bottles under our pillows, a really nice touch. There was even extra wood for us to throw on the fire. The food was very good, both dinner and breakfast.

Pomp and pageantry but missing important details. Stayed in August 2022 with a tour group. Hotel is just outside the city limits of Banos, a 2-3$ taxi ride to town. We were met with drinks and staff in elaborate costumes, including white gloves. Firepit in the front entryway. Were led to our rooms with no explanation of spa services provided or tour/description of the expansive premises. Inside the spa there is a warmed pool (free), steam room (free), jacuzzi (free), and hot tub (free). Other services such as massages are offered at American prices. Some, but not all, rooms have fireplaces and outside balconies. There is a nature path to a view up a small hill, and many flowering trees. There is a pet female peacock which can be fed bread with an open palm. Our second floor room had an older throw rug, which needed vacuuming, a hanging light IN the shower, and the tub required going up two steps. There was not really counter space at the bathroom sink, but a stone shelf separating it from the toilet. Beds were covered with red rose petals, and had thick duvet covers. Meals are served gourmet style with several courses, local fare, some prepared in the native way steamed in banana leaves. Overall, the hotel is impressive in looks and presentation, but lacking in personal details which would have made it 5 star.

We stayed here one night with our tour group. I think we were the only guests. Rooms were a bit rustic, but nice. The staff lit our fireplace while at dinner and put hot water bottles in our beds. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful. Carlos was a great host, gifting our group bottles of wine before dinner for our “happy hour.” The main house if full of antiques and our room had beautiful paintings on the walls.

El lugar increíble, el ambiente y La Paz del lugar hacen que valga la pena, la atención es muy buena y cordial. La comida muy rica y los precios van acorde al lugar. Puntos a mejorar: se debe adecuar las instalaciones para personas mayores o con discapacidad, pues las bañeras con la que cuentan los baños son muy peligrosas para personas mayores e inaccesibles para personas con discapacidad.
