Killeavy Castle Estate

Fantastic place - not cheap, but for a special occasion ('big' birthday in our case) the staff were wonderful. Absolutely top notch service from start to finish. There was birthday cake waiting for us in our room on arrival and when we returned to our room after dinner we received a knock at the door from a waiter laden with more cake and prosecco - definitely above and beyond service. The spa area is small but very nice - all guests can use the pool/sauna area but you must book in advance due to the small size.

While the bedroom was very clean there was very little storage space, two draws for a four day stay ?. While the bathroom was functional it was like a motel bathroom, very small and bad lighting.On booking for four days i requested a room looking on to the garden instead we got a view over looking the spa roof and the car park.The hotel was not busy so why not accommodate us in a room with the view requested on booking (expense was not a issue). Looking forward to our meals at night i was disappointed that the "special of the day " in the restaurant was the same for the four evenings of our stay. The staff at your hotel were excellent in their duties and the hotel is spotless . The spa looked nice and though my wife availed of a treatment we got to use the spa very little due to the over crowding ! On arriving on our reservation time one day there was 12 other people there far to many, so we just left.(Why not book a max of 6 for 1 hour ?) So over all the Killeavey experience was not one of our top ones, we travel into Northern Ireland at least 4 times per year for 4 day breaks and were looking forward to our stay with you, but unfortunately we were disappointed with the over all "experience"

Have just returned home after having afternoon tea in Killeavy Castle Estate. What seems like going to be a disaster turned out great. Our afternoon got off to a very poor start on arrival at the estate. Whilst the drive in and the opulence of the entrance to the estate is wonderful once we approached the buildings things changed. Signage was not clear and at both the hotel and the castle entrances there were notices stating 'Private Function' set down only. As we were unclear which building we were meant to be in if it had not been for a lovely young member of staff intercepting us and taking us to where we were meant to be I doubt if we'd have found our way to the right place. The outside entrance to the hotel is underwhelming to say the least - dull and drab with small signage. Eventually we were shown into where we were to have afternoon tea. Another disappointment - low tables and too many in a small area. I expressed dissatisfaction with the table height mainly because of a temporary use of crutches following surgery. Fortunately a delightful girl named Amy took us to another area to a more suitable table. Thereafter things improved. I was so disappointed by the start had it not been for the fact that we were there to celebrate a friend's birthday I would have left right away. Our afternoon tea arrived. It was beautiful. We all thoroughly enjoyed. Without a doubt the saving grace for the afternoon was the quality of the food which was only surpassed by the wonderful staff. We were looked after by Amy & Hannah. If I was to say what the most impressive thing about this afternoon was I'd have no hesitation in saying that Killeavy Castle Estate's best asset is their staff. Every member of staff we encountered were pleasant professional and helpful.

Just enjoyed a relaxing overnight stay in the stunning, contemporary hotel. The hotel has been imaginatively designed and renovated, with the new buildings complementing the original castle and buildings. The interior decor is a great mix of original stone, natural colors with splash of the colour. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant last night and a super breakfast this morning with a great variety of local produce freshly cooked and beautifully presented. On arrival we were made very welcome, with a friendly efficient team checking us in and explaining the details of our stay. Eugene highlighted this friendly welcome and approach, ensuring we had everything we needed during our stay, confirming our dinner & Spa reservations and getting us coffee in the lounge. During dinner & breakfast James was a friendly, welcoming, helpful and informative presence on both occasions. He advised us on menu choices, helped with advice on coeliac options and was extremely knowledgeable on the hotel’s history, development and its role the local area. It was refreshing to see someone so committed to their customers and so invested in his job. He is a credit to Killeavey Castle

Spent two nights at Killeavy on the Black Friday deal. It was our third stay and it gets better every time we return. The room, bar/bistro and general areas of the hotel are lovely as is the peaceful setting. The Spa is limited in size so can be busy. The standout however is without doubt the friendliness and efficiently of all of the staff and I mean all, from the housekeeping staff and all through the staff we were wonderfully looked after. We look forward to our next visit.

Took my husband for a birthday treat. Never been before so didnt know what to expect but the staff were friendly, the room was clean, modern and spacious and the spa was relaxing. We had a lovely walk round the grounds and surrounding area and viewed the Farm shop on site which is small but has plenty of local produce. We especially loved the breakfast and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing overnight stay.
