Almondy Inn

Thr most comfortable beds and pillows 2 min walk to Bowens wharf shopping and restaurants. Chef served hot breakfast every day and wine and cheese happy hours everyday. Staff are the friendliest in the entire area. I highly suggest the Almondy Inn to anyone visiting newport!

We booked at the last minute after going to another hotel first where it was just awful. This was supposed to be a nice birthday surprise for my husband and after seeing the first hotel he just wanted to go home. So in the early morning after looking at dozens of places I found the Almondy. The amazing reviews and the location sounded great so I booked it. We were extremely lucky as they are solidly booked but had one random room for only the one night we needed. Once we arrived, both John and Laurence came out to meet us. They were so warm and kind that we felt like we’d always known them. Everything about this inn was just perfect from the cleanliness, the homemade breakfast, the wine and cheese hour, warm fresh cookies at 2 pm, and bedding to die for. I actually loved the sheets and coverlets so much that I researched and ordered some for home while we were still there. They even surprised us with champagne for my husbands birthday along with a lovely birthday card. We have traveled extensively and stayed everywhere from high end boutique hotels, B&Bs all over the country and NEVER have we ever been so comfortable and impressed with a place or the people who welcome us. It’s a few second walk to the Thames St shoppes and restaurants, trust me you will not be disappointed. My only reticence in writing this is I’m afraid you’ll all discover the little Newport Gem making it harder for us to book a stay.

I absolutely love this B&B located off Thames in the heart after the downtown area. The rooms are beautiful and so well appointed. The hosts John and Laurence are wonderful. Their hospitality is beyond measure. Besides the delicious breakfasts every morning there is also a sumptuous wine and cheese evening snack. They go above and beyond getting us table reservations at area restaurants and always have a tip of a great way to spend the day. Add to this the owners, the Sutton’s are fabulous and fun and are happy to spend time with the guest.

This has got to be the best B&B in America! John & Laurence are without a doubt the most incredible host & hostess we have ever met. Service, breakfast, rooms, wine time, and location are incredible. Wish we could stay longer, but will definitely come back.

This is one of nicest Inns we have ever booked. Location: very close to explore everything in this charming town; comfort: nice one bedroom suite sparkling clean with prime bedding, comfy beds and quiet all the time we were there. Five-star amenities with great attention to details. Innkeepers were very attentive and provided us with very helpful information about restaurants, places to visit, etc. Nice breakfast served a la carte. It was a real pleasure to stay there. We definitely will return.

Outstanding Inn located in the heart of Newport! On site parking is available. Fantastic room with a harbor view. Incredible breakfast. Great Staff. Afternoon wine and cheese in the parlor. I highly recommend the Almondy Inn. We stayed for an entire week and plan to return next year. Laurence runs an amazing team and John is a wealth of knowledge when looking for ideas for tours, hikes and restaurants. I am excited to return.

We have stayed many times at the beautiful Almondy Inn where we have enjoyed views of the Newport harbor and easy access to the town activities. We were welcomed by the inn keepers John and Laurence who provided all the comforts of home including a gourmet breakfast with freshly baked pastries. Then, late in the afternoon a welcome wine and cheese service in the lovely parlor. Each room is uniquely decorated and comfortable with up to date facilities and Victorian charm. Our favorite place to relax in the afternoon is in a rocker on the front porch. We will be back!

The innkeepers and staff -exceptional! John, the innkeeper, has one goal and that is to make sure you will have the best experience in Newport. We followed all of his recommendations and they were spot on. Laurence is the co-inkeeoer who is from Paris. She is an awesome baker and makes outstanding breakfasts. The 5-6 p. m. wine and cheese gathering in the parlor is a lovely experience before going out for the evening. What we noticed immediately upon arrival was the cleanliness. We have visited many bed/breakfast inns and this was the absolute cleanest one. Shelby steps in and helps the innkeepers when needed. We will return!!!

The innkeepers, Laurence, John and Shelby could not be more accommodating to our comforts. They make you feel so at home you feel like it’s your own house. The Inn is centrally located to all attractions, restaurants and shopping. There is free onsight parking which adds to its convenience. The inn itself is charming and the rooms spotless. The breakfast is home cooked, delicious, and very plentiful. The wine and cheese offered daily is a chance to meet the other guests as well as sharing information with Laurence and John. It was a wonderful experience and we will be back.
