Breakfast tasty and fresh. John and Laurence wonderful hosts and made our stay extra special while we celebrated my husband’s 65th bday. Fond memories made and we plan on going back. We had 60 degree days and enjoyed visiting with the other guests.

Thr most comfortable beds and pillows 2 min walk to Bowens wharf shopping and restaurants. Chef served hot breakfast every day and wine and cheese happy hours everyday. Staff are the friendliest in the entire area. I highly suggest the Almondy Inn to anyone visiting newport!

We booked at the last minute after going to another hotel first where it was just awful. This was supposed to be a nice birthday surprise for my husband and after seeing the first hotel he just wanted to go home. So in the early morning after looking at dozens of places I found the Almondy. The amazing reviews and the location sounded great so I booked it. We were extremely lucky as they are solidly booked but had one random room for only the one night we needed. Once we arrived, both John and Laurence came out to meet us. They were so warm and kind that we felt like we’d always known them. Everything about this inn was just perfect from the cleanliness, the homemade breakfast, the wine and cheese hour, warm fresh cookies at 2 pm, and bedding to die for. I actually loved the sheets and coverlets so much that I researched and ordered some for home while we were still there. They even surprised us with champagne for my husbands birthday along with a lovely birthday card. We have traveled extensively and stayed everywhere from high end boutique hotels, B&Bs all over the country and NEVER have we ever been so comfortable and impressed with a place or the people who welcome us. It’s a few second walk to the Thames St shoppes and restaurants, trust me you will not be disappointed. My only reticence in writing this is I’m afraid you’ll all discover the little Newport Gem making it harder for us to book a stay.

The Almondy Inn is such a warm, cozy and inviting Bed and Breakfast. The innkeepers John and Laurence are the nicest people and treated us like royalty. Laurence puts her heart into the little things that make this bed and breakfast a success. Her breakfasts which include not only a delicious meal like french toast and Eggs Benedict included fresh pastries, mimosas and sculpted fruit. She also prepares freshly baked chocolate chip cookies each day. She is warm, inviting, and you feel nestled in her care. You genuinely can sense how much love and effort she puts to make everyone feel at home while staying here. John is equally as inviting and attentive to his guests. He highlighted the areas for us to visit and eat while in Newport. We thoroughly enjoyed talking to him and the care that he took in serving us along with the friendly attendant at breakfast each morning. He also gives one hundred percent to make each guest feel welcomed. The wine and cheese hour each night is such a special touch to get to know all the other guests and the innkeepers on a more personal level. The Plantation Room where we slept had all the added necessities that one could think of including ear buds, makeup towels, robes, water, coffee.. the list could go on. The bed was super comfy. The view from the large windows gave us access to see the waterways of Newport. The bedroom was fresh and updated. The inn was also beautifully decorated for Christmas with a beautiful tree and ornaments displayed in the house. Thank you Laurence and John for an amazing time in Newport! My husband and I definitely felt like we were in the Gilded Age by the way that you both pampered us. We hope to see you again when the weather isn’t frigid!!!

The Almondy B &B is a lovely base to visit Newport. Conveniently located, elegantly decorated, the hotel leaves good memories. The Innkeepers, John and Laurence, are welcoming and warm, friendly and helpful and add a lot to the stay. Their delicious breakfast is a great start to the day. All-in-all, highly recommended.

I absolutely love this B&B located off Thames in the heart after the downtown area. The rooms are beautiful and so well appointed. The hosts John and Laurence are wonderful. Their hospitality is beyond measure. Besides the delicious breakfasts every morning there is also a sumptuous wine and cheese evening snack. They go above and beyond getting us table reservations at area restaurants and always have a tip of a great way to spend the day. Add to this the owners, the Sutton’s are fabulous and fun and are happy to spend time with the guest.

What a wonderful place to stay when visiting Newport. John and Laurence are warm, friendly and super entertaining hosts. Start your deal with a delicious homemade breakfast, continue with fresh cookies in the afternoon and end the day enjoying their company with wine and cheese before heading out for the night. The rooms are delightful, beds are comfortable, and you are just steps away from the waterfront.

We just returned from a fantastic anniversary weekend at the Almondy Inn. The inn was the perfect place to stay. Cozy, clean, and decorated for Christmas. The daily multi course breakfast and wine and cheese hour made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed spending time with the other guests and chatting with the Inn Keepers. A beautiful home away from home in Newport.

I had the most wonderful time at the Almondy Inn. First of all, the interior designs were beautiful and created a nostalgic and cozy atmosphere. The room was very spacious and clean. The shower was very easy to use. I slept so well in the double bed. When I woke up, I went to the dining room and had a very delicious meal ; Blueberry pancakes and eggs with my own cup of fruit. It makes you feel like royalty. John and Laurence are such welcoming hosts. They gave us recommendations on where to go such as museums and restaurants. At 5 PM, there is wine and cheese in front of the fireplace. Overall I had the best time at the Almondy Inn and would definitely come back.
