Acronafplia Pension A

This was a beautiful pension in a lovely location. The room was large and comfortable. The pension is located on the side of a hill, just below one of the castles in town. We enjoyed the location including the steps down into the town. I would not, however, recommend this accommodation for people unable or unwilling to walk up and down hills/steps. The breakfast was healthy and filling but fresh fruit would have been appreciated.

Quaint little Pension , only draw back is finding the place was difficult , parking was nothing to do with the Pension which was not close , location is in a great spot overlooking the harbour , although we were blocked out by the buildings directly in front , all on all not bad value

Everything was perfect about our stay. The room was gloriously large, beautifully decorated, one could almost say glamorously beautiful. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. Many little details were well thought of, including water included in the refrigerator. Breakfast was so good - and so much! Beautiful Greek pastries, terrific yoghurt and honey, cake, eggs, great coffee, goodness, don't even know where to start here. But what was best of all was the warm hospitality of our host, everything from fetching us when we were lost trying to find the location to going above and beyond to make sure that our stay was comfortable. We even were gifted with lovely Orthodox Easter cookies from his wife. We could have stayed for the rest of our lives!

Charming building, dramatic setting.

I kindly ask them to cancel my reservation while Booking send them a cancellation request but they refused. They were very rude and charged my credit card without staying at the hotel. They lied to me telling me they couldn’t cancel the reservation. Total unprofessional behaviour. One of the worse experiences of my life

Had a nice split level bedroom with terrace overlooking the town. Only a few rooms in this pension run by Georgios, the manager. He was very helpful. Breakfast is huge, but mainly bread, pastries, and tea or coffee.No fruit offered. We didn't realise how many steps there were to get into the town - maybe 200+ - which makes life difficult if you are not young and fit. Getting down is one thing, but getting up at night after dinner is another. Yes you can get a taxi up the hill and then it's a short walk. However even the local taxi drivers have trouble finding the place, and that's after showing them the hotel business card ! Problem is there are 3 Pension Acronafplia in Nafplio and this is one of then Acronafplia A. The others are down the hill, and taxis often go to the wrong one !c

Unique location with outstanding views of Nafplio, the harbor and the fortress. Rooms were unique, price was quite reasonable and breakfast was very good. Good thing to realize: - There are 4 Acronafplia Pension Hotels, this is the "A" hotel, however they all come up on Apple or Google maps as Acronafplia Pension Hotel so you need to know your address. - Parking for Acronafplia Pension hotel isn't obvious. It is about 1500 feet from the hotel at a 180 degree bend in the road. You need to walk down a path, through a stone gate to get to the hotel. It really isn't bad, but you need to know what to expect We'd stay here again

Lovely place but impossible to find. Staff was very kind and helpful. Beautiful views from balcony. Would recommend.

My wife and I stayed at the Acronafplia Pension A earlier this month and, although I was very sick the entire time, very much enjoyed our stay there. The only warning I would give is that the incredible views come at a cost - you are literally at the top of the old town and you'll need to have some ability to go up and down a fair number of steps to go down into the town. First, we would recommend getting a cab up to the old Xenia hotel on your arrival. Lugging bags up the hill is no fun, especially at 2pm in July. It's nearly flat if you get a cab to take you to the small parking lot at the old hotel though - not a difficult task at all to get to the hotel from there. It's about 4-5 euros to get a cab from the cab stand at the courthouse up there though. As for the room, the bed was comfortable, the fridge was great, the bathroom was nice, and the small balcony did have enough room for two people. You'll definitely want to sit out there at dusk. And Georgios, the manager, and his wife were nothing but kind to us. They even set up an appoin**ent for me with their doctor and explained exactly how to get there. The breakfasts are served on the patio in front (they have a very nice courtyard). There's not much of anything else right outside the pension. You do have to go down at least a few streets to get to a restaurant, and all the way down the hill to do much shopping. It's not a luxury hotel, but a charming old house at the top of the city with six rooms, run by a sweet family. I have no qualms recommending it.
