Hotel Mountain View Room Almaty

It was 3 stories high in the city center, so the view was just so-so. The water is not good due to the local characteristics, so when I shower and wash my hair, I feel my skin and hair getting dry. The temperature dropped to around -10 degrees, so the accommodation was a bit cold in the morning. The breakfast was good for local standards, and the staff and front desk were all friendly and proactive. The laundry service was also good.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at so far! I arrived at the hotel around 5 AM, and fortunately (thank you for the receptionist who attended me), they had a room available for early check-in (for half the price). The view was absolutely amazing, and the room was well-equipped with a mini-fridge, TV, hair dryer, disposable slippers, bathrobe, towels, and complimentary coffee, tea, and water. The breakfast? I highly recommend booking a room with breakfast included! It’s a buffet with an extensive selection—mains, soups, and desserts change daily. They also have pies, cheeses, breads, cereals, and so much more. I didn’t even recognize some of the dishes and didn’t get to try everything, but everything I did taste was absolutely delicious. The location is also excellent, with bus stations and the subway just a short walk away. I was able to walk to several tourist spots like Panfilov Park, Green Bazaar, and many more. One of the best features of the hotel is the keycard system — you can only access your assigned floor and the first floor, where the reception is located (from there, you can easily walk to the breakfast and spa areas)

Subject: Excellent Location, but Overpriced and Outdated Rooms I stayed at Hotel Kazakhstan in Almaty for more than 10 days, drawn initially by its prime location. The hotel’s location is indeed its biggest strength—bang on the main road with excellent accessibility to various parts of the city, making it convenient for travelers. The property itself is a heritage hotel, and while it has its charm, the overall experience was mixed. The hotel is quite old, though the upkeep and concierge services were commendable. However, the parking facility was a major issue. During snowfall, it became extremely messy, and entering the hotel was quite challenging. Regarding the rooms, my experience varied throughout the stay: • The initial superior room booked online was decent, offering good space and facilities. • The “supreme premium superior” room I opted for later was disappointing—it was smaller, with a worse layout and fewer amenities than the superior room, which was surprising and frustrating. • For the last three days, I upgraded to a junior suite. While it offered more space, the layout and overall upkeep of the room felt outdated, leaving much to be desired. A consistent issue across all three rooms was the drainage system in the washrooms, which was poorly maintained and created unnecessary inconvenience. The breakfast provided as part of the stay had a wide selection and was good. However, the menu did not change for all nine days, which became monotonous for a longer stay. Room dining, though available, could be significantly improved in terms of quality and variety. Overall, while the location of Hotel Kazakhstan is unbeatable and perfect for those who want to stay in the heart of the city, the property feels overpriced given the outdated facilities and lack of variety in services. I would only recommend it to travelers with a good budget who prioritize location and heritage charm over modern amenities.

Nice location, staff is very supportive and good breakfast. One disappointment was description for room info indicated as king size bed where in it was actually a queen size.

Location is in the fron of city, far away from airport. To the ciry centrum id will go in morning till 10a than will be in tradic and will go 1-2 hours. Room new with comfortable beds, but i recomend book the cheapest rooms, because deluxe (50sqr) are about nothing, just alot of free space. Maybe if you will do some party in the room for 5-10 people. Room design very simpe compere with ankther hotel where i was. Food very my tasty. In breakfast were a lot of vegetables, deuits, sweets and etc… No welcome drink, 80% staff looked for very strange, unfriendly and not plesure. Spa big, steamed bath with canalizatiom smell…

Our stay at Ritz-Carlton Almaty was exceptional, in fact our fav part of the city as tourists. The best part was the warm service from the staff, in particular thanks to Yekaterina (Kate), Malika, and concierge lady. Kate was welcoming and informative upon check in. Guest service staff Malika gave us attentive care throughout our stay and accommodated our preferences, which truly enhanced our experience in the country. Concierge lady gave us comprehensive advice on where to visit. The view from both our room and the Sky Lounge was unparalleled. Snow-capped mountains framed the landscape, offering a mesmerizing backdrop that undoubtedly ranks among the best in Almaty. Will definitely come back here if we’re back in the city.

From my point of view, the Holiday Inn Express Almaty is truly exceptional. The accommodations are comfortable and well-maintained, providing a relaxing environment for guests. The customer service is outstanding, with staff going above and beyond to meet guests' needs. The food offerings are diverse and delicious, catering to various tastes. The hotel's location provides breathtaking views of the surrounding area, adding to the overall experience. Additionally, Mr. Nurbek Dauitov, the front office manager, deserves special recognition for his exceptional assistance and dedication to ensuring guests have a memorable stay. His professionalism and helpfulness contribute significantly to the hotel's excellent reputation.

I really liked the hotel. Excellent service. Clean. Friendly and caring staff. They will always help solve any problem. Breakfasts are excellent, varied, correspond to the declared stars. When possible, we always try to choose Holiday Inn.

Had a great time in the suite. Retro 90's Chinese vibe. Very nice. Also for a few euros you can get a Hongqi taxi with Yandex.

The hotel is great, worth the price. Everything is good, clean, tidy and comfortable, breakfast is rich and delicious, with both Chinese and Western food. A little further south is a pedestrian street with a fast food restaurant (Figure 5), which is delicious and cheap, I eat there almost every day. There are also shopping malls and supermarkets. There is a bus No. 92 that goes to the airport nearby.
