We had a really great time at SYYF Li River Courtyard hotel.
Here are some highlights:
1. Helpful staff
We were able to check in around 12:30 pm. The staff at front desk helped us move in. Everyone in the hotel put a lot effort to make sure their customers were satisfied with their service.
2. Comfortable beds
The two bedrooms is kind of small for a family of 4. It lacks desks to put makeup, purses. However the bed and pillows were very comfy.
3. Tasty food with stunning views restaurant
The ZUI restaurant at 6 floor has excellent food options, great quality and stunning views. We had both dinner and breakfast there. It was the best one in our entire Guilin Yangshuo vacation. We really like the local specialties, like Oil Tea, Black rice cake with egg yolk, fried rice noodles, Guilin rice noodles…
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at SYYF Li River Courtyard Hotel. I highly recommend it.

Great staying experience with perfectly maintained facilities and intelligent room control panel. There is also a 24-hour butler service through wechat which was very convenient and the staff was responsive. Special thanks to all the friendly receptionists and staff, especially Mr Wang from front desk, who addressed our questions with great passion and empathy. Would revisit when I come to Guilin again!

The staff, amenities and services were great in the hotel.
Here are some highlights:
1. Helpful staff
We got room upgrades upon check in. They also helped us book the LiRiver cruise plus the transportation to the cruise port. They also have delicious sweet soup delivered to our room at night.
2. Comfortable room and beds
The room was equipped with a table and big chairs, and the bed and pillows were very comfy.
3. Stunning views
We had dinner at the Cloud restaurant at the hotel. Even though the food at the dinner didn’t amaze us, the view from the restaurant was amazing.
4. Tasty breakfast
There are a lot of selections at the breakfast buffet. We really like all the local specialties, i.e. RedBeanRiceCakes, TofuNoodles, GuilinRiceNoodles. We all feel it tasted a lot better than the dinner.
Overall, we had a great experience at Li River hotel. I would rate it 5 out of 5 of every things.

We had a decent stay in the family room of this hotel. It was located close to the busy part of the city center and right next to the park with the pagoda. We had bunkbeds for the kids in a separate part of the room. The bunkbeds were super firm and uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet was small and limited in choice. However, the room was clean and the hotel staff were nice. Since we only stayed one night, the negatives were not a big deal.

Beyond my expectation. Service is at tip top. Walkable to many places of interest within 400m. The receptionists were so helpful giving directions as where to go and assist to call for cab anytime i needed the service. Remarkable housekeeper aunty, asking me need not wait for my laundry as she will make sure it is all done and will deliver to my room, she even drop me a note after sending the laundry on my bed. Got a upgraded family room which was spacious and on the high floor. The hotel 7th floor has a small pool and nice view of the Jingjang Wangfu background and the ancient city. They do served tea at 3pm with some nice cookies and desserts, breakfast was awesome with order to make famous Guilin Noodle soup. Highly recommend this hotel for personalize service and a comfort room. Would rate it 5/5.

Stayed for 3 nights at this lovely boutique hotel. The rooms are clean, modern and well maintained. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. I would recommend to friends and family.
If there was one thing to improve, I think smoking and non smoking rooms should be completely separated - the hallways were filled with the smell of cigarettes and it also filled my room but otherwise, I would stay here again.

This is certainly one of the best hotels you can book in Guilin !!
We loved our stay here so much that we can't wait to come back and stay again for our next trip to China.
Here are the highlights of our stay:
1) The hotel staff were all very friendly, especially the receptionist who checked us in when we arrived late at night.
2) The hotel building and our room are very clean and modern, with well maintained facilities and utilities
3) The view is simply amazing. Especially from our 270 Degrees View Suite on the 12th floor.
4) The spacious gym and pool (which is only for children) are also a nice addition
5) There is also a very useful washing machine and dryer
7) The rooftop area has some of the best views in Guilin
8) The location is fantastic and right what we needed, with quick access to local shopping centres and to parks/temples
The things we recommend for improving:
1) There is not a lot of privacy from the toilet area which can be uncomfortable
2) The bed mattress is a bit more firm than what we prefer
3) The complimentary water provided by the hotel doesn't taste very nice (but this is a very minor inconvenience)
Overall we can 100% recommend staying here and paying a little extra to book one of their amazing suites!

We were in Guilin for 9 days, during which the city experienced its worst storm in 35 years ! The city centre was seriously flooded and there was no electricity. We were extremely fortunate to have stayed in Qing Lan - it is situated at a higher ground so was not affected.
We were travelling with an elderly lady with wheel chair - first stayed at a Double bed room mountain view for 4 days and then the Family Suite Mountain View for 5 days.
Surroundings - The nearby park (which hotel staff can take you there for free - outsiders have to pay. It's huge ! It's only about 5 mins walk to get there from hotel ) has the most spectacular view one can expect. It really has a ”wow” effect. The best part is hardly anybody there.
Staff members - This is the most friendly hotel I have ever stayed ! Staff members are not just professional - they genuinely care and give you a family feel. They looked after us so well to the extent we were a little touched :-)
Location - situated in a quite area but about 15 mins drive to city centre (Ride costs about RMB 20 - 25). The scenery is indeed much better than city area
Room - Since the hotel is new, everything is very clean, towels are new and beds very comfortable. Really nothing much to complain about.
Food - The only drawback is there is only one restaurant nearby in the park. Breakfast is more than sufficient but not elaborate. You can order delivery easily should you want to have dinner at hotel, which was what we did for 2 days
If you want a few days of peace and tranquility, I cannot think of a better place. Will definitely go back again !

GGuest UserA truly magnificent stay - highly recommend
Even before I arrived, the staff went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. I received a message the day before my reservation to call the hotel. When I called, they asked if they could send me a message on Wechat as they didn’t speak English. The staff simply wanted to know my eta so that they could turn the a/c on in the room to cool it down before I arrived.
The hotel is more of a BnB set up than a hotel - similar to a house design. The building is 5 stories high with I guess around 4 rooms on each floor. This makes it perfect to escape the large tourist groups which frequent bigger hotels.
When the taxi pulled up outside on the day of my arrival, 2 staff members rushed out to welcome me. Check-in was quick and they told me that they had upgraded me to a bigger room. They also asked me what I wanted for breakfast the next day as they had some different ‘Western’ options (think Chinese idea of Western but still okay). I was able to have toast and fried eggs every day.
The room is really exquisite - I came alone but would definitely recommend for couples as the bathtub is heavenly.
The two balconies offer beautiful views of the karst mountains. The room is also tastefully done up in wicker and white. And the bedding is luxurious. My only recommendation for the room is to add some sachets of instant coffee.
The pool is perfect for a cool down and what a spectacular view from the loungers!
I swam every day and every day while sitting by the pool, the staff brought me some refreshing lemon water to drink. In addition, every day of my stay they brought me something: day 1 - fresh watermelon and some blueberry thing (candy?), day 2 - baby tomatoes and more blueberry things day 3 - apples and peanuts. On checkout, they prepared a local snack and water bottle for the trip home.
The staff at this hotel really go the extra mile and just about bend over backwards to serve you. It’s been a long time since I have seen such eager staff and it makes for a very pleasant change from bored receptionists on their phones.
I cannot rate the hotel highly enough for their excellent hospitality service.
The location is also perfect - away from the main ***** but an easy 15 minute walk to the river rafts and another 5-10min to the ‘town’ and a variety of eating options. That’s when you turn left when you get to the main road from the hotel (5min walk). Turn right at this road and you can comfortably walk (30 min?) to some other sites like the one with the hole in the mountain (overrated) and an exquisite cave - Dragon cave. If you like caves and the formations within I highly rate this cave. It is truly gorgeous. You can also rent bikes or a scooter 10m in front of the hotel.
The staff do not speak English but they communicate via WeChat and are more than happy to help with anything.

The staff’s service was impeccable, warm and prompt. Our room was clean and faced amazing mountain views. The location at ten mile gallery was peaceful yet perfect for travelling to other sights in Yangshuo. Our children absolutely loved the lavish breakfast buffet spread and we had delicious dinner at the hotel for 3 nights straight. When we went out to West Street and had difficulty getting a taxi back to the hotel, a staff personally drove the hotel car to pick us up. The hotel even arranged for a complementary transfer to transport us to Yangshuo train station at the end of our stay. I cannot compliment the staff enough for their amazing service and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

SSteven D.We would like to say a big thanks to all of the staff at the Tong Resort for our short but memorable stay. From a warm welcome to a fond farewell, Tong Resort gives everything you’d hope for. The hardware was all in good working order, the level of cleanliness was excellent and the service is on par or even better than international-level 5-star hotels such as The Ritz-Carlton. Quite outstanding!
The hotel reached out to me prior to arrival day for check-in and special occasion arrangements. The hotel has a WeChat private service group where all of your requests can be disseminated at ease; with the nature of our trip being a birthday surprise celebration it was rather effective! The hotel offers private car pick-up service from Yangshuo Railway Station or you may also choose Didi. Upon arrival at Tong Resort, we were presented with welcome drinks, invited to be seated and were promptly escorted to our room. You can tell they have placed a lot of thought into the room features and design; they even embroidered the hotel logo into their bed linen.
The hotel offers shuttle car services to and from West Street, this is one of the most famous global streets in China which is a must visit for all Yangshuo travelers. When we arrived back at the hotel, we were spoilt with free late night snacks sent to our room and most importantly the hotel did not forget about the birthday cake which was timely delivered at 00:00.
The breakfast by the swimming pool was scrumptious. There is a choice between Asian and Western and you can select as many items as you wish from the menu which in turn gets freshly prepared for you. The team is doing such a good job; although the hotel has only been opened for 2 years, it seems as though the staff as been trained for over 10 years!
What’s more, after check out whilst we were waiting at the lobby for Didi, a staff member had the attentiveness to place down glasses of water which she had no obligation for doing. What a nice gesture! At the end, essentially it’s these finer touches that sets a hotel from its counterparts.

I booked my stay at the Shixi Landscape Hotel in Yangshuo, Guilin, through Trip.com. The check-in process was very smooth and didn’t take long at all. One pleasant surprise was the option to upgrade our room for free, which we accepted. This upgraded room came with a lovely balcony. Although the staff couldn’t speak English, they were very friendly and helpful. Using a translation app made communication easy.
Room Details
We stayed in a standard double room with an upgrade to a balcony room. The room also featured a bathtub, which was a nice touch. Upon entering, the room was fairly clean, though there were some water stains on the floor and the carpet had a few dirty spots. The amenities were average, including a selection of soft drinks in the minibar and some snacks on the table. Despite these minor cleanliness issues, the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep.
Facilities and Services
The hotel had a restaurant where we received a complimentary breakfast upgrade. Unfortunately, the breakfast did not meet our expectations. While the Chinese food selection seemed okay, the international options were quite disappointing. The sausages were undercooked, the bacon was not good, and the cereal options looked and tasted stale. The only decent international option was toast with butter. It’s a relief we didn’t pay extra for it.
Although I noticed the hotel had a spa, gym, and pool, I didn’t get a chance to use them. The pool looked nice but was small and shallow, not suitable for a serious swim. There was no room service available as far as I knew.
Location and Accessibility
The hotel’s location was fantastic, situated right next to the Li River and only a short 5-minute walk to the main shops and streets in the town. It was very easy to find and access, making it a convenient base for exploring Yangshuo.
Customer Service
The overall customer service was great. The staff were very friendly and polite, and we encountered no issues during our stay.
Overall Experience
The best part of our stay was the hotel’s prime location, which made it easy to visit tourist attractions. The hotel staff were also very helpful in arranging scooter rentals for a very reasonable price of ¥30 per day, which allowed us to explore the beautiful scenery around Yangshuo.
However, there is room for improvement. The breakfast selection, particularly the international options, needs significant enhancement. Additionally, a thorough deep cleaning of the carpets would greatly improve the room’s cleanliness.
In conclusion, while I would recommend the Shixi Landscape Hotel for its location and overall good service, it is on the pricier side for Yangshuo. Given the cost, I expected a bit more in terms of breakfast quality and room cleanliness. Nonetheless, it is a decent option for those looking to stay near the Li River and the town’s main attractions.

Adjacent to Julongtan, Big Banyan Tree, Yulong River Scenic Area, etc., the karst landform is a sight to behold at a glance. A boutique Chinese-style B&B that not only retains the simplicity, elegance and beauty of rural areas in northern Guangxi, but also incorporates modern and comfortable design. Highlights of the B&B: There is a small yard and terrace, where you can have afternoon tea outdoors, which is great for taking photos. The B&B as a whole retains its ancient style, is quaint, warm and comfortable.
The decoration style is relatively old Chinese style, the bed is very soft and comfortable, the design has a sense of the past era, the daylight is good, and the food has both Chinese and Western styles. The beer fish is really great, very authentic Northern Guangxi flavor, the coffee and juice are also delicious, you can enjoy it in the pomelo grove or in the open-air restaurant on the top floor.

PPrinola NaidooI thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel from the beginning. When I arrived the staff were super helpful and polite from the minute I stepped out of my taxi.
The staff at the front desk were very polite and efficient and the receptionist also upgraded my room for a room with a better view. They could barely speak English but went out of their way to use a translator to ensure that I understood what was going on.
When I got to my room, it was beautiful and matched the theme of the hotel which is a fusion af antique and modern. When the receptionist entered my room, he instantly got a strong cigarette smoke smell and immediately offered to get it fixed.
The buffet dinning area was well set up and offered a wide array of dishes, drinks, pastries and desserts. I ate dinner which was an added cost of 99rmb which is reasonable considering the huge variety of food that was offered. The breakfast was just as good as it also had a huge selection of food.
The location of the hotel was great as it was very close to downtown and the surrounding area was lovely to go walking. The hotel also offered in house entertainment every day which was a huge plus.
I'm very pleased with my stay at the Grand Bravo.

GGuest UserBooked a parent-child and double room. The hotel is located in Jinkeng Terraces, with view decks 1.2 on the left and 3 on the right. There are rice fields right outside the door. There is a stream a few steps down from the hotel. It is very parent-child friendly! The hotel is hygienic and clean, and the food in the store is delicious. Auntie Fa is very nice and the boss is very enthusiastic. The luggage is sent directly to the hotel. The car is parked at the foot of the hotel and it takes five minutes to walk to the hotel. There are stone steps on the mountain road and there is a road. It is full of childhood memories and I saw many plants that I saw when I was a child. Worth recommending^^
Picture 1.3 is the balcony view of the room, Picture 2 is the delicious food, Picture 4.5 is the rice field at the door, and Picture 6.7 is the viewing platform on the fourth floor to enjoy the sunrise.

FFaeMy first impression of Shangri La Guilin is that many staff speak English proficiently or at least the basics that are required for their job. I arrived an hour and a half before the check in time but they promptly checked me into my room without any long wait. My luggage was taken to my room by a bell boy whose English was even better than the front of the house. My initial thoughts of the room was that it was quite old fashioned and the interior design & amenities were dated in comparison to most 5 star hotels. The view however was exceptional. I could clearly see the garden, river and mountains. After my first night I was woken by some loud music. Though the staff tried to tell the dancers that playing the music was disruptive to their guests, they continued to play it which further frustrated me. I informed the guest manager Edward who was very helpful in rectifying this. He upgraded me into a much nicer room that he ensured me should be quieter. They also gave me complimentary fruits in the room which added to the nice gesture. This is exactly the kind of quality of service that earns them a 5 star rating. Carl at the front desk was also very competent and was very helpful when I had to pay for something through wechat.
The room I came with was a package deal that included breakfast, spa voucher, photoshoot and club privileges. It was worth the extra cost as the all inclusive club buffet during happy hour was filling and tasty (photo attached).
Breakfast was a Chinese buffet with a fusion of western basics such as cereal, toast and bakery items.
If you have the time, I would highly recommend seeing Kelly (English name) for a ”signature Asian” massage at the spa. She applied the perfect pressure for me and was very kind.
The photoshoot was organised through wechat and included 6 photos. The photographer was lovely and the final photos made special memories of my time in China.
Suggestions for improvement: several items in the room are in need of repair or replacement eg. old hair dryer that lightly blows air (useless), flickering lights when you turn it on and the phones. I also think if they were to refurbish the pools outside then the place would appear less worn down.
Overall, the service and reputation is what made this stay worth it. I look forward to staying at Shangri La again
